I have a US MS account. I have purchased Xbox One games from digital store for India and Hong Kong since mid this year and have no locks so far on my digital downloads. I use a valid Hilton hotel address and phone number for these countries.

I just jump onto Amazon, but gift cards, then vpn into XBOX.com with a US connection and redeem the codes. Once they are loaded i then buy games on xbox.com though vpn and no issues. My account is NZ based and they only thing i have to worries about it when i can download a pre-order game. Most times its release day 6:01pm.

I haven't had any issues since turning on voice recognition.  'XBox On' works 99% of the time, as does 'Record that', 'Volume Up & Down' and 'Turn off'.
On another topic - Media Player - supposedly now supports MKV DLNA content - but only my MP4's are visible at the moment.  And it has no nice content management front end - just horrendous folder navigation.  Wondering whether Plex is worth a shot, but sticking with my WDTV players at the moment.

Plex is the best $79 I have spent on Media playing technology ever. I have spent a LOT over the years. It's seamless.

Yea plex works great, like the samsung app over the xbox one app due the transcoding part. Xbox app cannot play back some types of audio and you need to transcode it.

So this might be of interest to a few of you, my xbox one TV tuner arrived finally today from the UK only took 19 days.:)

I plugged it in and it recognises it, but then says region isn't supported.

I switched to the UK region, it then starts loading the TV Setup, I entered a UK postcode, and then picked a regional ariel setting, and then clicked next for it to scan.

Low and behold 30+ digital channels found, click continue, and it asks if you wish to use the live pause, i said yes.

Things that do work

You can change channels the picture is very good, as good as directly on the TV sounds fine, and no screen lag or anything.
You see whats on now and whats on next, when you are on the channel.
When you go to change channel, you can see the channel name just not whats on nor can you get any info, it just lists, TV3 or TV3+1 etc nothing else.
Live pause works.
Streaming to smart glass works, about 15-30 second buffering, and when playing a game, it carries on, and you can change channel, and start directly from smart glass, a notification on the xbox displays that someone started streaming, again when you change channels, about 15 seconds buffering. Probably depends on your wifi etc.

Things that don't work
One Guide
Or that trending shows via twitter thing, but i think thats part of one guide.

I wasn't sure it would work because of the whole encoding mpeg 2 and 4 etc, but glad it does.

It worked out about 48 dollars ( postage was free thanks to friends and family discount)

Couple of questions:

Can you snap the TV
Can you use voice control (eg to change channels? pause etc)
Is there any appreciable change in game performance while using the TV tuner (either snapped or streaming to smartglass)

edit: also is there any kind of battery in the packaging anywhere (damn youshop UK and their rules)

I was just about to come here and say what you have asked.

So yes, you can snap it, quite nicely too. ( see attached image)

Voice control also works, Xbox watch TV2, pause play, thats about as far as I've got.

And no batteries, a sealed unit, smaller that i thought, fits in the palm of you hand.

You'll see in this image as well with it snapped it shows recent channels, which is kind of good and annoying at the same time.

And basically its this in a box, with instructions on how to plug a usb connection into your xbox one, I'm using it with one of those very small ariels, that come with a TV Tuner for a Laptop i got a bunch of them off dx.com

Oh and to answer the question about gaming performance I haven't noticed any performance dips or anything.while running the app, can't say I've streamed to smart glass for that long. Ill play with it more at the weekend and let you know.

Do you know how much bandwidth smartglass streaming takes?  (I'm thinking cellphone+vpn+xb1 = remote TV playback)

Does it plug into the USB port on the side, or into the TV port on the back?

Also, doesn't anyone know if the latest Xbox 1 patch has enabled DLNA client mode?  Reason I ask is that I thought I noticed it was listing my Panasonic Hard Drive recorder (which has DLNA) a short while ago (well I assume it was) but have not been able to find it since.

Plugs into the USB port on the Xbox One itself. DLNA update was released 2 months ago. Plays MKV as well.
