Hi there Geeky Community,

As per my recent posts, I recently upgraded my PC to at least 4X the specs of my 5yrs old PC:

  • i5 CPU
  • 800W CPU
  • 8GB DDR3 1600MHz (PC3 12800) RAM
  • HD 7850 2GB OC video card
  • Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX MoBo

Strangely, my new PC is struggling to play Day of Defeat when connected to my monitor (Samsung PS-42C7S - 42" plasma) i.e. serious lagging when moving the mouse fast and poor picture quality (lowering resolution helped slightly).
However, when connected to an older, smaller LCD monitor, everything runs/looks absolutely perfect.

Question: Is my plasma monitor the problem?

Cheers guys.

I would be surprised if it's your TV, so try the following:

1. Check the refresh rate setting of your card (is it like 60Hz?)
2. Make sure you have the latest drivers, not the ones off the disc that you got with the card, but grab them from the website.

Hope that helps

Some TV's have been known to suffer from input lag. But some also have a feature you can turn on to help fix input lag.

Ah yes, I remember some TV's have a "gaming" mode, or something that helps.
