I have the just had my PS3 repaired new capacitors after red screen error and would not start.
I have now got it back I reformatted with 4.53 firmware it will start now but only only in AV mode it will not change over to HDMI I have tried numerous times and it will not work with my Panasonic plasma, I can plug it in to my PC HDMI monitor and it works anyone had this problem and could help?

Have you changed the video output settings on the ps3 in the settings menu?
Edit: I see it works with your PC monitor on hdmi. So it's probably not the settings. Maybe it's the hdmi port on your tv?

kinda sounds like the repair job wasnt so good. did you try another cable.. even though it worked on pc
or another hdmi port on tv. I know some tvs do have hdmi settings. like auto or 1080p 50hz or 60hz

did you read these links.. seems it a common problem

the fat ps3 models never have a issue.
