Hey there just a question can I use the hard drive from my old laptop and put it in my ps3??? They look identical except my laptop hard drive is 250gb and my ps3 hard drive is 12gb please help

The 12GB PS3 does not include the hard drive bracket required for installing a sata hdd.  You will have search online for where you can buy one.

I've got a bracket I got last week off trade me just wanting to know if I plugged it in the ps3 would it work or does data from the 12gb need to be transferred to my 250gb hard drive?

When you put it in the PS3 and boot it up the PS3 will detect it and copy over all the data, it'll take a wee while though.

yes it works fine.  I bought one of the 12GB ones when they came out and put my old laptop hard drive and worked well.




HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard  graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner,  Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi
