I've been burnt out on all the previous steam sales plus all the new online retailers that have sales rather often, so the only thing I've bought has been Mount and Blade: Warband and Pacman Championship Edition DX+ haha

I picked up two xcom games for about $10 nz. The xcom remake - enemy unknown is great and really brings back memories (although I was never any good at it)' but the FPS , the bureau is meh! and I probably will never play it again. Long time since I played PC games, but games like xcom just don't lend themselves to consoles.

solaybro: So far I have only bought Prison Architect, I hope there are some better games coming.

Got to say, Prison Architect is well worth the price (even though it is still in Alpha). Spent 4 hours on it last night only to have a riot kill all my guards/staff and destroy most of my prison. Very satisfying.

I did find myself having to explain to my wife why I bought Skyrim (which I'll likely never play, but may in the future just to have some fun with graphics mods). My wife couldn't see the logic in the purchase.

All in the all have purchased 4 games so far and have been a little bit underwhelmed with the selection.

reven: dont most bundle sales gift you the items now days (humblebundle does) so you cant resell them.

also anyone know how to get the full list of flash sales? I found a few by just browsing the site, but those flash sales werent listed on the front page, so i could be missing out on lots!!!! I NEED THEM ALL!!! :D

If its not on the front pages, it wont be a flash sales, just a regular discounted game. Do not buy it untinl the last day of the sale, unless you are desperate and its 70%+ off, as chances are it will be part of a flash or daily deal.

i was just stumbling on flash sales for linked games to the current flash/daily sales.  eg Borderlands 2 is on a daily sale but also borderlands 1 goty is as well (just not advertised on the front page).

so far ive spent about $130.  yesterday i only spent about $6 (either I had everything or didnt want anything).   todays good though.  might get METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE for $15, but its been that price a few times before and I probably wont get a chance to play it before its that price again.

picked up the assassin creed games I didnt have (bought revelations again as I bought it from amazon and was only uplay.  Playing a uplay only game via big picture is a PITA and you have to use a mouse to start the game in the launcher and exit the uplay launcher.  via steam it still uses uplay but the game starts straight away and you can exit uplay with controller).

ive got a cheap windows 8 version of pacman for my 5year old (figured it would be good for him to learn to quickly use a keyboard), but i saw this and added it to my wishlist (which has gone from 15ish to about 110 currently).

greenman gaming had a pretty awesome summer sale a few weeks ago, and theres always deals to be had, but there are loads on steam ive found.   TWD s2 + wolf among us are great prices.  things like south park arent (i got south park for $25 off kinguin a few weeks ago, murdered soul suspsects is $11 on kinguin :))

So who's chewed through the most data so far downloading stuff from steam?

A quick scan of the games I have bought so far....  about 150GB. (and climbing)

It is a little disappointing that so many of the games I have already had for free on PSPlus over the last year or so, but there are still heaps worth getting 'just in case'

my internet started on the 12th, and up around the 550gb mark so far.

think the green man gaming sales were included in that data though (they had great deals in their summer sale).

bought lego harry potters from amazon as their prices were better ($5 usd vs nz steam price, us steam price was $5 usd)

Yeah, and still really expensive in most cases.

Early access = Beta, which, IMHO, should be Free.

Way too many 'early access' games that charge full price $$ up front, but still really really suck.

(the best thing about sucky early access games is watching Jim Sterling tear them to pieces on his Youtube channel)

picked up resident evil 4 (I finished 5 and 6 about a month ago).  undecided about getting dishonoured yet, first person games tend to put me off (I game from couch/bed with controller, no keyboard/mouse at all).

the standard edition of dishonoured is $2 cheap from amazon (activates on steam) so if you dont want the GOTY edition buy from amazon.

more early access sales :(

I only got one play through out of it, and thought it was fairly short, but also outstanding. Really enjoyed it.
