hi,

Do you think most games that come out on Xbox One will also come out on PC as both are Microsoft, so my best choice would be to get a PS4 so that I can play killzone as I already have a really good PC for gaming....

killzone shadowfall sucks.

honestly, don't bother.

there are other good reasons to get a PS4 though.

Would you say though that most Xbox games would also be available on PC due to both being Microsoft?

Say no more.

I suppose due to Xbox being MS and same with PC there is probably some reasoning for studios to make games for both. But still 99% of the time all the studios are making games for Console then if they make enough money poorly port it to PC. So i suppose if the title is big enough on the Console side of things it will eventually end up close to PC. But you wouldn't be wrong or right to assume that game companies will favor the two or make games for both.

You've been desperately trying to win a PS4 from Bigpipe. If you think console owners are peasants why are you trying to become a console owner.

my PS4 has been gathering dust for the last few months (now the last of us is out, ill play it for a week then it will go back to gathering dust).

I've switched to using a PC now, waaaayyyy cheaper games, I use it as a console (do need a wireless keyboard/mouse to handle a few launchers/windows issues) but for the most part, its just a console with steam big picture.

the only issues with PC gaming IMO
- if you like using a gamepad, you cant really play any FPS.  Titanfall was ok, but anything else will just get you killed with KB/M players
- PS4/X180 exclusives, some will come to PC (titanfall) but others wont, Ryse for example (unless you're reading this in the future and laughing at me since Ryse did come to PC...)
- few games still use annoying launchers (amazing spiderman 2)
- only gaming isnt as good as PSN/Xbox (could just be me and most of my friends having PS3s/xboxs)

for any game thats comes out on PC, ill buy it on PC.  I like the huge backcatalogue of games (not having to lose all my games when a new system comes out), the prices of games, mods can be pretty cool (skyrim mods were brilliant).  I've picked up so many cheap PC games, some were crap, but some amazing games I never would of played otherwise (RogueLegacy, $3 on sale, brilliant game).  Never played Dead Space, got the first one free on origin, awesome, just finished the third one.

Ill keep my PS4 incase there more exclusives like the last of us (played that last night, very pretty game), but for the most part its PC.

also the PC community in general is very angry :)  if anyone asks if a game supports a gamepad, 9 times out of 10 it becomes a debate why KB/M is better and you should just "learn to use a KB/M" (even if you're sitting on your couch 5m away playing on your tv....)

I really hate most PC gamers :)

Over the last week, I've been gaming on PS4 playing Destiny beta! Best fun ever and most used of PS4. I do get on it to play FFXIV but I've been taking very casual approach with FFXIV itself - I didn't get on my home/gaming PC, let alone PS4.

Anyhow if you did miss out the Destiny (open) beta, I'd say you've missed out one of the most successful open beta trial. I'm now craving for more and can't wait for 9/9!!!

Must be playing call of duty then. I use a XBOX controller when ever i play any racing game. Otherwise KB/M all the way.

But the PC community has slowly got more 12 year old keyboard warriors recently and starting to seem like Xbox and Play Station.

not really, games like mass effect, dragon age origins/2, fable.  if you ask about gamepad on basically any game, trolls jump in stating how much better KB/M are.  KB/M suck on a couch/in bed :)

We all know that. Tell the trolls to go shove it and you'll be fine.

There's also the much maligned Wii U. The current library isn't too bad.

A little disappointed at the specs of the current gen. I don't think the cross-platform games do them any favours.

Anyway, at the end of the day it's all about the games.

not really me, just whenever you google to see if a game has gamepad support (steam lists so many games that support gamepads as having no gamepad support), most threads you find are filled with these responses.

Also when PC gamers say console gamers are idiots are little kids, "real men you PCs".   there just seems to be so much hate coming from the vocal part of the PC gamer community.

i suppose its the same when people debate the xbox vs ps (not on merit, but just pure fanboyism).

ill throw out my pro/cons with each system

PC
Pros

  • Cheaper games
  • Huge back catalogue of games
  • No backwards compatibility issues
  • Quicker hardware cycle, new things dont have to wait for the next generation to come out etc
  • Modular upgrades
  • Guides in big picture, being able to open a guide for the game you are playing is cool, only wish it would jump to the part of the game you are currently on.
  • Can share you steam library (most of it) with family
  • Free cloud storage (100mb for each game via steam cloud)
  • Steam in home streaming
Cons

  • Online gaming not as good as psn/xbox
  • Can be difficult getting some old games to run, but usually possible
  • initial hardware for a good system is more expensive than a console, around $1000 for a good system
  • steam big picture still not completely usable via gamepad (lots of things open in the big picture browser, achievements etc)
  • no online services in big picture for netflix etc
PS4
Pros

  • Better hardware than the xbox
  • Nice controller
  • Can buy games from a US account, so USD$60 games
  • good online
  • has free games with PSN sub
  • hassle free, just works
  • netflix
  • Playstation TV device looks amazing
  • exclusive games
Cons

  • Limited games available, best ones are ps3 games that have been enhanced
  • OS isnt as good as xbox
  • games more expensive than PC
  • doesnt work with ps3 games
XBOX
Pros

  • OS is really nice
  • netflix
  • nice controller
  • hassle free, just works
  • great online
  • exclusive games
  • console is cheaper than a gaming pc
Cons

  • limited games
  • took out the cool online sharing stuff they originally planned
  • games more expensive than PC
  • doesnt work with xbox 360 games

Yeah, the Destiny beta was all kinds of fun. Moved it up from "meh" to "perhaps I should purchase this".

As a contrast to reven, I use my PS4 a lot. While its true that there aren't many killer AAA titles for it yet, I'm quite enjoying the indie titles that have been coming out monthly for PS+ subscribers.

As far as AAA PS4 titles go, my favourite game so far has been Infamous: Second Son. That was the first game where taking it through to 100% completion didn't feel like a real grind. It also does a great job of showcasing what the PS4 is capable of. Killzone also does this from a graphics perspective, but I find the gameplay to be rather pedestrian.
