Hi, as a preview member on Xbox One I got the new EA Access yesterday. EA Access has been compared to Netflix for games, but I wouldn't agree with that, because there are a limited number of games available. That's probably due to the nature of the preview and the number of games EA have released for the Xbox One. I haven't actually joined up (yet) but if anyone is interested I can post some screenshots and answer questions. Also I have the August update preview if anyone is interested.

sounds very similar to PS plus.  I like the idea of a subscription based service, but would have to include new games too, not just early access to new games for me to join.  kinda get why PS turned them down, but really should give consumers the choice.

for things like BF4 does it include all DLC etc for it, or do they need to be purchases separately ?

I thought that with PS+ you had to be a member in the time period a game was released to get access to it.  So a new PS+ member doesn't gain access to the old library.    Not that EA has a massive XB1 library to draw on here, but I'd say this will get quite valuable as time goes on.

Also as a XB1 BF4 veteran... I welcome the incoming harvest of noobs :)

Warning: reality may differ from above post

Xbox GWG and Sony PS+ are different to EA Access. Both Xbox GWG and PS+ will not include any of the latest EA games like BF4, Peggle 2, FIFA 14 etc for a long time. They mostly only offer indie games specially on Xbox One and PS4. Xbox 360 and PS3 offerings are different story as the platform and AAA games on offers on those are old anyway. If you forget to redeem any of the free games on offer for the month in both GWG or PS+ then you can never get it again for free. It's only free to be redeemed for a specific month which also means that new PS+ or GWG users miss out on a lot of free games that were offered in the past.

EAAccess is a really good deal. For USD$5/month or USD$30/year you get unlimited access to BF4, FIFA14, Peggle 2, Madden NFL for starters. If you were to buy these digitally right now, you are looking at paying $150+ for the lot or $120 for physical copies.  On top of that you get 10$ off new EA titles if you wish to buy them outright and 10% off DLC.

One could pay $5 for 1 month, buy both the game and DLC they wish to buy outright for 10% off and play rest of EA library for the month to try out other games. Sony shot themselves in the foot for not taking up on this offer.

Do whatever you want to do man.

it sounds like you wont get the newest EA games, but the older ones, much like PSP on ps3, where each month you get free games (I think xbox live does this now too???).

No, so far, it's all the newest games and includes 5 day early access for new releases.

I was checking the BF4 DLC last night and it includes a discount for each DLC (it's 10% by memory).

so you could end up with owning the DLC but not having the game anymore if you stop your subscription, nice one.  yeah pass.
