Yeah that $5 deal is pretty sweet, at that price you can't go wrong :)

As Brumfondl said, I'd also recommend starting on a PVE realm while you're learning the game. It's a much more forgiving environment, and you can relax and enjoy it a bit more.
That being said, if you both like a bit of danger, and quite possibly a lot of frustration, a PVP server might be for you! Just avoid the Oceanic Frostmourne server, as it's pretty darn full at the moment.

It doesn't matter so much with PVE realms, but if you do decide to go PVP, it would pay to check out the server stats in advance (ratio of horde to alliance, etc). There are a few websites floating around that provide some rough numbers.
Being on the weak end of a 5:1 ratio in PVP isn't enjoyable in my books, heh :)

On a side note, I'm really sad about the Gladiator warrior nerf, I guess I can't be super OP anymore ;)

Hi guys,

I have now created one battle.net account for my partner and i. Ingame I will sent her an invite via recruite a friend. Will she need to make a battle.net account as well? I will then buy her a $5 client as well.

PS : Got the $5 client 😄

Cheers,

As Demeter said, if you have both accounts under the same battle.net account then you get to share mounts and the like. To do that you need to send the recruit-a-friend to the battle.net account email iirc.

The downside of this is that you can only have one authenticator. Everything else is better if you d it this way, though.

Happy playing :)

So....to be clear...I will sent the recruit a friend to the current email addy that I have just used to create the battle.net account? Then somehow create a sub account?
So I do not sent a recruit request to her email account?

So confusing 😃

The battle.net account is the overarching account so you will create that when you buy WoW and register the key. in fact, since you are going digital you may have already had to set the account up.

Once you are in-game on the new account, follow the instructions here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/11524458 to invite the other person. Apparently it send them a key for a starter edition account. There is a video on that page. I suggest you watch :)

The idea is to associate the new account with the same battle.net account. Hopefully it should be fairly easy.

If you have any more questions ask away. I get the notifications pretty quickly :)

Hi B,

The vid does not say which email addy I need to invite, iwould make sense to sent the invite to my partners email adress...or do I understand it wrong?

Or can I invite my current email addy that I used to create the firts battle.net account?

You have to have a battle.net account to play and since the recruit-a-friend is done in game you would already have an account. The idea is to end up with two WoW account under the same battle.net account. so sending the invite to your own address makes sense.

Cool?

Got it now 😃 Had to go to youtube hehehe

So the only advantage of doing it that way is that you share the same mounts/pets and so on...but you can still RaF to his/her own email addy and great his/her own battle.net account.

So you guys recon having one battle.net account is better?

Most of the time, yes. The Authenticator is the only downside.

There is actually a sort of ghetto-workaround for having multiple authenticators for a single Battle.net account. My daughter and I use this method. http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/5036024245

Woohoo, Nagrand is a pretty solid choice. Enjoy! Would love to know how you guys get on and what classes you both like playing. :)

For the Alliance!

(secretly I prefer Horde, because I <3 Tauren, but I hate how bad armour looks on them, and all my RL buddies play Alliance)
