I just purchased Battlefield 2 complete collection for offline play.

To get Armored Fury and Euro Force boosters to work I need to have an online account. Trouble is I can't as EA have shut the server down. So, is there a work around so I can trick it into letting me still happily play this offline?

How did you buy this? On Steam, the default BF2 install is fully patched so it includes Armored Fury & Euro Force maps and Special Forces is activated from the Community page.
But you can play them all just using the default Offline account, or you can create a new Offline account. But either way works for me (just tried it now).
It tries to install the Gamespy thing when launching BF2 but I just cancel that step.

I got the single retail DVD, which I think had patch version 1.41?
I can't download the 2GB 1.5 patch as my internet is too limited/expensive/patchy.
Which is why I never once played BF2 online even though I had it since release.
My last computer wouldn't run it but new laptop can so I just bought a new copy.

When I open BF2 and use offline account all the maps are there, when I choose an AF or EF map it starts to load then quickly dumps me back at menu with a popup saying something about must use online account.

I remember back in the day using the chat feature with EA, trying to get them to follow what I was saying and they never did even when it was escalated to more senior people. Which was that to play BF2 and SF requires either and online or offline account to play offline, but AF and EF require an online account to play offline. It has to connect to the online EA login server briefly to allow offline play at home. In my case the online EA login server was shut down so it can't "connect" there and says "server refuses connection".

Hmm, sounds strange. I do know that the 1.5 patch did things like removing the requirement to have the original game DVD inserted in the drive.
Perhaps it also did away with the requirement for an online account to play the DLC?
If you want, I can post you a DVD with the patch.
