I think I'm addicted, I just saw a desk fan in in my real life office and thought how I should probably grab that as it's got lots of components

Im finding the fact that I cant equip from the screen where I am hording things to the workbench etc to be annoying, have to get out of that and back into the pipboy to put things on that I accidentally take off and stick into the workbench to store.

Base size limitation is a pain. Have run out of what I can build at the drive in with a half-finished base.

I think I will pass on downloading random executables from the internet to fix something that I am sure Bethesda will resolve given time.

You sound like someone who has never played a Bethesda game :) There are to things I always need for their games, a UI overhaul and and Community patch to fix all the bugs they never do.

Mods from the Nexus are fine and NOT executables (in the main). Generally they are .esp or .esm files that purely modify elements of the game or new art assets to replace various things found to be lacking or incorrect.

You can use the program, 'Cheat Engine'. The mod provides a table for that. Bethesda most likely won't patch it - at least not anytime soon I'd say.

That original mod recommends this one instead: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/818/

I
checked it out. It is just a text file. Nothing that can screw up your machine :)

Just came across this one that makes the dialogue system a lot more useable. (And reading the install instructions makes it very clear that pretty much everything is going to be a kludge for the time being - at least until official mod support comes out in "early 2016")

I was getting a bit frustrated at all the junk filling up my workbench that wasn't being used.  I found an answer for the problem - grab all the junk from the workbench, drop it all.  The first time, when I came out of the pip-boy, I was surrounded by a mountain of crap.  Go into the workshop menu (V by default) and scrap everything.  Pre-War money becomes cloth, plastic cutlery becomes plastic, metal cutlery becomes steel, used oil cans become oil and steel, etc etc. But best of all, duct tape gives adhesive!
The selection and scrap setup is a bit clunky, it'd be nice to just scrap with a single click but this 'Are you sure?' dialogue pops up with every piece, so if there's a lot it takes a while.

By the way drunkmonk, I did buy from Steam in the end.  I looked around some more as you suggested and did find enough doubt about G2A to change my mind.  It's weird that I hadn't seen that before, I did investigate originally.
I'll still use it for those occasional games that are a year old and still the same price in Steam though...

Not everything.  I was constantly looking out for wonderglue for example because I couldn't craft without adhesive.  The first time I manually scrapped all the junk in the workshop, I suddenly had around 50 adhesive available from the duct tape that was stored there.  It also makes it a lot easier to pick up the right stuff for a new settlement.  Need concrete?  Grab concrete instead of concrete blocks.  Need cloth?  Grab cloth instead of rugs or old clothes or duct tape.  Steel instead of steel armour or cutlery or whatever else breaks down to steel.  Etc etc

I have now got some tato plants at my settlement that just dont show a green outline when I am in build mode, so I cant scrap them, I cant assign someone to them, they are just there.

3 times I have been at a terminal, hit tab to leave it and then been stuck standing looking at it. Can move the view, can change first/third person. Cant pipboy, shoot, or quicksave.

All junk is counted as resources when stored in your work bench, it is used and broken down as you need it.

The turret below needs 4 Fiber Optics, I only have 1 Fiber Optics in my workbench but I also have some microscopes that give fiber optics. The game sees and uses the microscopes as if they were raw components.

I read somewhere that if you scrap it that way that the rest of the stuff in the items that are getting scrapped goes to waste. Not tried to prove either way however.

Last I heard they worked out that you get the other stuff but it takes a little while before it registers.

I read that if you get stuck at a terminal, its because of a frame rate issue (too high). I got this yesterday for the 1st time after taking Vsync off. Will try today to see if that fixed it.

Could be. I've turned the quality's down so I'm getting a higher rate. Fraps has decided to stop working so I can't tell exactly what it is tho.
