The Daily Quests should also add a new dimension to the game, so that should be interesting.

My Go Plus should also be arriving this week. I'm hoping I'll be able to sit at work and be notified every 5 mins to spin the pokestop outside, rather than waking up my phone every so often and spinning it.

Daily Quests? First I am hearing of this, has this been found in the code?

Being able to hit the plus to get work Pokestops has been one of my biggest benefits from the game, and over the last week my avatar now stands just slightly "north" of my physical location, which has opened up two/three (and sometimes four) additional Pokestops to spin .. all while sitting at my desk.

Yup, Daily Quests is something that they've found in the code. Check out this site.

^ Sounds potentially promising.

With only two Pokemon to go to complete the 'dex, as I close in on Level 30, I am trying to figure out what my next goal will be (#1 - complete dex, #2 - reach level 30)
I think it will be something like, obtain L30 Pokemon with 82% or higher IV's (which for team Instinct is "overall your [Pokemon name] looks like it can battle with the best of them" and one of the stats is "its stats are really strong, impressive"

If that is my goal, then some of the Pokemon that are harder than average to obtain are going to take a while to get
I am trying to decide if it better to take a Pokemon that already has high IV's and power up, or try and catch a wild one with the IVs I want ...

Nice!

I only just hit level 28 today, with my pokedex at 120 (but I've got a few ready to evolve thanks to the halloween event). I haven't powered up anything, been trying to catch some nice high level ones rather than waste dust on low level ones.

Daily Quests are now "coming soon" according to the official website (extra XP, stardust, items based on catching a Pokemon and spinning stops constitutively)

And around 9am (NZ time) the Halloween event ended - I am wondering if my buddy distance to get a candy is just a graphical glitch until I restart the app, as it still says that I only need to walk 1.25km to get a candy

My buddy has reverted back to the usual distances, but only after it completed the cycle that it was halfway through.

Mine updated the distance to walk back to normal when I checked it again about 10ish.

Was a useful event.  Hoping they do more similar things and intrigued to see what sort of things one has to do for the daily quests.

My buddy distance was a graphical glitch - I managed to GPS drift my way around a complete 1.25km and 200m into the next
I checked my candies - 135
Then did a walk at lunch, which took me into the next rotation - candy count remained the same
So I restarted the app which reset the distance required to be 5km (and I had done 2.6km)

Anyone here use a naming convention to sort their Pokemon?
I am thinking of renaming mine to be easily identifiable based on the following: Level of Pokemon/IV Percentage/Move Set Rank for Attack/Move Set Rank for Defense
Which would be something like L20/91%/A/C

How do you work out the level of a pokemon? I've seen lots of people refering to "my level 22 lapras", etc, but I don't know how they worked it out. I've seen IV calculators but they calculate a percentage, not a level number (at least not the ones that I've seen).

There's an app for that.

I think the Pokefind IV Calculator gives you that info.

In terms of which Pokemon to evolve - better CP or IV + power up - I try to find a combo of the two. If the IV's are epic but it's really low CP, there's no way I'm going to have enough stardust to power it all the way up, so I ditch it. However, if it's high CP and really low IV, I get rid of it. Generally, I go for anything over about 75% IV, with a CP good enough that it won't take too much stardust to power it up further. I use most of my stardust to bump up my 100% IV Pokemons and my 97% Gyarados. I don't power up prior to evolving - I save it for afterwards, just in case I get a really crappy moveset.

I've had my Pokemon Go Plus for a couple of days now, and it's pretty good. I was intending to wear it around the house while I work to clock up distance, but it buzzes so violently when Pokemon spawn in that it kept making me jump, and my character walks further than I do if I just let GPS drift carry it up and down the street. When I went to the supermarket, though, it came into its own. Picked up lots of Pokestops and it was nice being able to leave my phone safely in my bag. I could see it flashing as I was driving, and it was interesting to note that it didn't find every stop - possibly due to the speed I was moving - but it sometimes flashed for Pokemon even when I was travelling faster than 30 k/ph, which I thought was the limit. I'll be taking mine and my son's out this weekend and giving him instructions to click both whenever they turn blue. The Halloween event has left me woefully short on supplies.

Thanks for the info. I've been pretty much following the same steps as regards deciding which to evolve, but so far I haven't powered anything up as I'm trying to get some good 'mons (I'm on level 28 and have 600,000 stardust).

I received my Go Plus yesterday and today was the first day using it. When driving to work it picked up and caught a couple of pokemon, even though I was doing about 45km. I've been sitting at my work desk all morning and it's been buzzing away and spinning the local pokestop and capturing pokemon. A couple of times it disconnected from my phone (a single red flash and buzz) and I had to reconnect it. Not sure why that happened, but have found reports from lots of other people about it happening.

Yeah, mine's disconnected a few times and I've had a "your session has timed out" notification if I let it sit for too long. It's not a perfect device but it makes certain aspects of the game much easier. Sadly mine can't pick up the Pokestop on the hill opposite my house - I had hopes the rumoured extra range would give me a chance.
