Yup.  Other than community day shinies, I've picked up two shiny Swablu, and that's completely it.

Also noticed that with three gyms in sight of my house still popping raids up to 9pm.  Snuck out and grabbed a Latios on the last one.  No idea if that was a one off, or will be regular given raids were popping before 6am again today.

I saw raids around me hatching till 8.40pm last night; none of the local crew expressed any interest so I just watched them come and go.

I do hope that my increased shiny luck does not come back to bite me at community day ..

Well, I enjoyed that event; yes the same spawns over and over and over again can get a little boring and I now have significantly more candy than I know what to do with .. but all good.

Ended the event with 5 shiny Meditite and 2 shiny Makuhita, along with a random shiny Magikarp thrown in - my shiny luck has certainly increased in recent months and fingers crossed it stays the same.

Managed to add a few additional gold gyms into the pile of gold gyms and good progress on others (though there are also many Dunedin based gyms I have never been to, but unlike others, I am not in a rush to "get all the gold")

Yes, good event. The extra raid XP was good and I made some progress on the few gyms on my normal driving loop that are not gold yet. Not sure what I will do with 1400 Meditite candy, but oh well. Just two shiny Makuhita for me. We spent all Sunday afternoon luring trying to get Griffin his first shiny of the event with no luck, then when I picked him up from school yesterday, the first Meditite he clicked while driving home was shiny, lol. So that made his day.

There appear to be some raid shenanigans going on this morning with Lugia unexpectedly appearing again, along with all the other raid bosses that accompanied the Lugia cycle. But I think it was a mistake and Latios and the other bosses are returning at the moment.

Off to Mewtwo raid 11 in about 40 minutes, and have a pass for 12 in my inventory. I wonder when they are going to bring in a different EX boss? If we retain Mewtwo for the rest of this year, I may need to start transferring a few. A good problem to have.

No shinies since the pink sheep.

No more EX passes, though I was deliberately avoiding known EX gym raids so I didn't get a pass while I was away.  But they are all Tuesday 1-1:45pm currently, so I couldn't make them even if I did get a pass.  Stupid time of day for those of us that can't game full time and actually have to work.

I did EX Raid #4 at lunch time and got my 3rd above 82% (89%), so I can now transfer the sub 82% I have been keeping (my general rule is my 3 best Legendaries, though semi extended to 4 if I get a weather boosted and/or shiny). Having 11/12 Mewtwo is certainly a good issue to have.

Due to potential EX raid locations mostly being out of walking distance from work and raids now happening during the week, I haven't been making the effort to raid at known EX locations to get a raid pass because I know I won't be able to make it (though I know I could probably give someone a device to participate on my behalf). We did have a new EX location added to the EX raid locations for next week - the raid is happening at 6pm on Tuesday.

Have I mentioned how much I hate Latias/Latios?

EDIT: Looks like my Go-tcha device has died; my normal routine after the end of the day of use has been to leave it to charge overnight. This morning I took it off the charger, connected it and drove to work - somewhere along the journey it disconnected itself and wouldn't reconnect. It's currently been on charge at work all day and won't get past the 3rd item in the menu screen (4th item is the vibration settings - when I have managed to drain the battery in the past, it had the same behaviour of not getting past this menu option). Currently undecided if I get a replacement, get a similar autocatch device called the Pokemon Egg or just use the official GoPlus ...

Is there some kind of hard reset feature for the Gotcha? I would be lost without mine, purely for resource collection purposes, although I do also catch with it when I'm grocery shopping because I have my grocery list on my phone and can't catch manually while I shop.

I'm very lucky to be self-employed and able to attend all my EX raids. At today's one we ran proxy for several other group members who couldn't get there. Weekdays are a stupid idea in this quantity. They should be evenly balanced with weekends so 9-5 workers aren't unfairly penalised.

Not that I know off.
I have seen "remove/insert from USB charging cable 10 times quickly" to clear settings, but that hasn't done anything when I have tried it.
They do have the iOS app that can update the firmware of the device, but as an Android user I am SOL.

I definitely notice the difference when travelling between the Go-tcha and the GoPlus - the Go-tcha certainly picks up more Pokemon (I have disabled Pokestops since update 0.93)

I didn't know about the Gotcha app. I would probably be too scared to install it, but I guess with Apple's sandboxing rules there would be no way that Niantic could tell if you were running it or not.

Thankfully the Go-tcha didn't die; it was just really really really flat and needed a significant number of hours on the charger in order to be able to rotate the menu system and to display the charging symbol again, before being put back on the charger to actually charge fully.

My shiny luck continued yesterday with a random shiny Shuppet .. again, like all shinies it wasn't any good in the IV department but hey shiny
My 10th shiny in 2 weeks

I'm glad the Go-tcha lives to catch another day :) Mine refused to connect after I updated the app this morning, prompting a mild freak-out. However, ejecting it from the game, forgetting it from my phone's Bluetooth settings, re-starting the game and re-pairing it in the Go Plus menu worked a treat and it connected first try.

You have indeed had the epic shiny luck! I like that there are so many things in the game that can be shiny now. Makes random play much more interesting.

So I spoke too soon regarding the Go-tcha.
It worked on Tuesday, but I forgot to charge it at night. On the way to work it died (expected), but over 4 hours failed to charge ... Have since cleaned the contacts and left it charging ...

Been reading that the update (0.103.3) has broken the GoPlus/Go-tcha so it just no longer connects.
I no longer update via APK due to all these bugs but I highly suspect that because this update was pushed to iOS so quickly, it will be the forced release for Community Day

How was everyone's community day?
Managed to get 5 shiny Charmanders (all sub-par) - getting 5 matched with my Bulbasaur collection. I was walking with someone who managed to get 13, including a 93% which frustrated/annoyed but that is PoGo in a nutshell.

The forced upgrade to 0.103.3 was a nightmare - took several uninstalls/reinstalls before I managed to get the GoPlus to work and several more madness inducing rages before the Gotcha would connect. However by Saturday the Plus connected without any issues so I have to think Niantic did something to resolve connection issues and just didn't say anything (as normal).

My issue with the latest update is that it seems to have become a battery hog again; in one hour off the charge I used over 30% battery ..
Although it could also be an update to the Go Companion app I used to boost the responsiveness of the Plus to iOS levels

4 average shinies.  1 normal 98%er.  And whole heap of rubbish over the two hours I managed to get to.

One of our group got 30+ shinies.  We think she was stealing them from everyone else.  :-p

Update borked the GoPlus initially as it wouldn't reconnect while I was out and about after initially connecting fine post update.  Was happy when back on WiFi though.  Has been ok since.

We had a pretty good Community Day. There was a sudden last-minute change of venue when the "intermittent showers" that were forecast turned out to be "deluge of biblical proportions". I've seldom driven through rain like it, and the streets were all flooding, and we abandoned our park-by-the-beach idea just 100m away from the carpark and drove up to Albany Westfield instead. It meant we missed the first 10 minutes of the event, but we were dry and warm and had access to 9 Pokestops from inside the mall. The spawns were fantastic there - I have a theory that CD spawns tend to replace the normal trash spawns, which malls have in abundance. Sometimes we were getting clusters of 5-8 at one Pokestop.

I got 8 shinies. My best was 82% but that was with 10 attack, and a 76% with 15 attack. Best normal catches were an 89% with 15 attack and two 87% with 15 attack, which all got evolved. I've powered the 89% up to L35 and Pokebattler now ranks it in my top 3 against Regice and top 6 against two of Registeel's movesets. My fire team is a bit sparse, so this Charizard is a welcome addition without having to touch my precious rare candy supply. My son got 9 shinies, which made him very happy.

Now I'm back to the agony that is trying to catch a shiny legendary bird. Did 4 raids on Sunday and out of 70 total Ho-oh encounters only 1 was shiny (not mine). One of the raids netted me my 13th Mewtwo invite, once again on a Tuesday (for the fourth week in a row). Niantic really needs to look at the scheduling of these raids. Most of our group are normal 9-5ers so can't attend. If they want to be fair to everyone, they really should just do Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. People who work weekends often get either Friday or Monday off, and many public holidays fall on a Monday giving even more people a day off. Persisting in hitting every weekday was disproportionately disadvantaging the majority, but getting stuck on Tuesday for a month is even worse. Still, can't complain about my ... I think it's 7th EX pass in a row.
