Dunnersfella:

So Borderlands 3 is a bug fest. Constant lock ups in dual player mode, bugs in character creation and frankly, compared to the likes of RDR2, it's just a basic effort with very little left to keep me on-board.

My partner liked playing the first and second versions with me, but she is frankly 'over it'.

Back to attempting a true 100% completion of RDR... it will take many years at the speed I'm progressing!

I am surprised. I have played around 30 hours so far and had one issue that I can recall with a mission not completing. Restarting resolved it. What Platform? I am Xbox.

Sorry to hear of your issues.

XBox OneX... absolute disaster at this point.

But I will give it another go in a month or so and hopefully the bugs are ironed out by then?

This has drawn me back in...  I can't decide if it's relaxing, or just so mentally engaging that I can't think about stuff that stresses me. Either way, I love the fact that I can stop/start/continue!

My favourite total war by far, it's a shame the series has just gone so downhill. If you haven't already, try HOI4 it's got a steep learning curve but is awesome for being able to pause it.

I'm currently playing Classic WoW with some mates, of course time is a lot less these days so only up to lvl 39 so far and not sure if I'll ever make 60 🤣

And staying away from P99 green!

Still playing Ghost Recon Wildlands, and dig that open world in team multiplayer.

My brother is living in Vietnam now, and this game becomes a catchup free talk session whilst we muck around and all.

Gaming as an activity like that is bringing the global world a lot closer and I thankful for that.  We can't go and hang out and do an activity like go karts etc anymore, but we can hang out virtually and chat in a game like a phone call for free.  It's a pretty cool situation compared to say 30 years ago, when a 3 minute phone call would cost like $20 or something.

Just thought I'd mention that aspect.

I am back playing Gof of War after a long break, trying to finish it.

I am at the place that has the corrosive fog where you have to close the tears. I am only getting so few points per excursion, I feel like it could be a massive grind to even get 1 let alone all of them. Is it a matter of coming back later for more points and trying other parts of the game?

Sorry for the questions, I have completely lost the story and pretty much feel like I'd have to start from scratch to get back on track (which I am not going to do).

Even learning the combat again is a nightmare.

Closing the tears is an optional side quest.  You only need to do those if you choose to.  But there is benefit in doing them, you'll get XP and upgrades etc.  But it's not critical for the main story.  I did about half of the side quests before finishing the main story, then went back and did the rest.  The good thing about the side quests is they are actually useful, rather than just busy work.  But it's your choice.

If you mean the corrosive fog in the mountain mouth, that's different and reasonably simple to get past.  You'll get to talk to the witch again and she'll take you somewhere to get a thing to fix the fog.

I'm playing Outer Worlds at the moment.  I really really like the game mechanics and gameplay, and story, and graphics, and casting, etc etc.  But there's SO MANY LOAD SCREENS!.  I reckon if I timed it, I would play about 30 minutes of game per hour.  The rest is load screens when going from one place to another, or one sub-area to another.  And the game leans on travel during quests a lot, so in each quest you might have to load different areas 20 times.

Really hope they patch the game to reduce that frustration, as otherwise it's pretty much a perfect RPG.

That's crazy load times. I have been wanting to put an SSD in my Xbox One X but it's such a PITA compared to my PS4 which it was so simple with.

I don't think it's a drive speed issue, it's just the way the game is designed.  Each planet requires travel, getting in and out of the ship requires loading.  Going into a story driven building or location on a planet requires loading.  Fast travel requires loading.  etc etc.  It's just baked into the gameplay.

I get it free with gamepass and had been considering it but glad I got this information as there are so many games now that are good it's probably worth skipping.

For those who like xcom games pheonix point is out in a few weeks.

It's possibly my favourite franchise of all time and the bulk of the team are ex xcom developers who wanted an independent voice to make the game they felt xcom should have become.

I backed early and have had a look at it throughout somewhat. It shows some real promise. The deal they did with epic upset some but I couldn't care less so long as the game is good

I got it from Game Pass too.  It's still one of the best games this year.  Besides the loading frustrations it's like Borderlands/Fallout/Mass Effect all had a baby that grew up to be amazing and awesome.  I definitely wouldn't skip it, especially while it's on Game Pass.

Hmm, I guess, like you, there are so many good games, many of which I am only half way through, like GOW, that I really should finish to make room for other games.

I'll give it a go I guess.

I have a few that I still need to finish.  I'm only 1/3 through Resident Evil 2 remake.  I want to replay Man of Medan to get a different story/ending.  I have been meaning to play both the Metro and Dishonored series.  There's just too many games.  Especially with Fallen Order and Death Stranding.  I'm glad Last of Us 2 has been pushed back to May.  I'm always in favour of a game delay if it means they can make it more polished.
