The extreme loading times of AC Odyssey - even on PS4 Pro - are really getting to me.

I got a 1TB SSD for $99 incl shipping a while back from Amazon and installation took 15 minutes, + backup and restore time, best investment I've made in gaming for a long time.

I would seriously consider that if I wasn’t thinking of getting a PS5 in Nov/Dec. 😀

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Not noticed that myself! Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the right bits?

I am running a Pro @ 4k (well 1440p) and have a HD with an SSD Cache in...

Wonder if it is a limitation of the game or just a hitch in the texture streaming you have seen?

I play on an OLED @ 4K and am noticing a lot of pretty low end graphics. Most of the time, the game is gorgeous but they are "cheating" a bit one things that people usually won't stare very closely at.

One thing I *really* notice between the Xbox and PS4, is that the PS4's easily upgraded SSD, makes gaming a LOT more fun. Xbox loading times can be quite painful as a result.

It's a real mission to upgrade the Xbox Internal HDD, and external SSD's aren't cheap....

I am looking forward to next gen Consoles both having SSD by default.

I have an external SSD for my xbox one x ( and another for my PS4).  Get a 3.5 ssd with an enclosure - not that expensive (and even external ssds are really coming down in price).  Really helps.  A bit annoying that external drives won't be able to be used for new xbox (not sure about the ps5)

Finally finished God of War on PS4. Really enjoyed it. Finished everything on the 'give me a challenge' difficulty except the Valkyrie Queen. I think I'd be playing for 2 more months on that boss battle alone, if I tried to beat it on that difficulty.

I wanted a really change of pace after that; so I'm playing 'Papers, please' on the PC  and 'Life is Strange' on the PS4.

redoing COD 4 Modern Warfare Remastered so I can play my newly acquired COD Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. Was in the middle of Kane and Lynch Dog Days but feeling like a bit more action.

Also just acquired a new Logitech rumblepad for the PC so I can play AO Tennis 2.

So, I played a fair bit of the last guardian over the weekend. It reviews really well, but I can't recall a less enjoyable game in recent times. The controls and cameras are truly awful. I keep waiting for something magical to happen to endear me to the game and so far, nope.

I am at area 7. Not sure if I should be "into" it by now?

You are not alone - one of my biggest gaming disappointments.

Loved Ico, loved shadow of the Colossus and this fell totally flat.

Looks and sounds great and a great concept, but the controls and creature coercion is just awful.

I am not sure if it's worth persisting given the other games I have in the chamber and soon enough another few games will be along.

Removed GTA5, got fed up with the constant crashing and getting dumped into sessions full of cheats/modders. (They are not hackers)

Have a total of about 9 games installed (out of a library of 560+)

Overwatch, Forza Horizon 4, Far Cry 3, Destiny 2 are probably the most played now.

Friends are looking at Sea of Thieves if it comes on sale..... weve done Unturned to death now, and looking for new challenge/funzone.

I've been playing a lot of Starcraft II this week. Blizzard RTS games still really hold up.

I also rebuilt my desk at home with a new top and put some RGB backlighting on it as well. I'm quite pleased with it overall.

I am surprising myself by still playing Ghost of Tsushima!

I am beyond the part where I normally get bored and lose interest in games of this type and mechanic, but something keeps drawing me back. In the final act and reckon I will finish it.

What's up next?

Well I have pre-ordered the Tony Hawks 1+2 remake. Yeah I know I am a sucker, but the first 3 games are immensely significant to both my gaming and social history and I have deep, fond memories associated with them.

Hopefully they will nail it this time and the game will look and feel like it does through my rose-tinted nostalgia glasses. Bring on the soundtrack and school 2 - I used to be pretty damn good at it, so I wonder if the muscle memory is still there..?

I tried with the Last Guardian. At this point the controls and camera are removing any "fun" I would be having with the character or characters relationship building. I'm just going to skip the rest.
