Just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider with the 100% Completion trophy - but not all of the other more obscure trophies. Thoroughly enjoyed it - possibly because my initial expectations weren't all that high. A lot of fun.

Now have its sequel, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, arriving shortly via Trademe.

After the highs of Rise, Shadows was a major let down.

So my expectations won’t be high again and I’ll probably love it - as I did Rise.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I am totally stuck into the Witcher 3 now. I have spent the past few days, just doing side missions, levelling up my gear etc, but wondering what level I should level up till (I am level 27 now) before finishing the main missions?

I have been enjoying it on the whole, though trying to get the resources to buy and craft potions and armour is starting to get tedious.

I have said before that I think all games should be fully cheatable. You own it - you paid for it. It is entirely up to you (or should be) if you want to cheat. Some games really do seem to be hard and/or tedious just for the heck of it sometimes.

If you get your fun playing the game at level 100 with every weapon and toy from the very beginning, why should the developers care about that? They got paid.

I finished fallen order. Not a bad game but I would have been a bit disappointed if I'd paid full freight.

The kids are loving Minecraft Dungeons at the moment. They both really like Minecraft and it's more like a "real console game" but suitable for small people.

OK, so after spending far too much time staring at my monitor over the weekend, I did in fact finish the original Witcher 3 Story.

I am not sure I'd agree it was the greatest game of the decade or what not. I did enjoy it. I'll play through Blood and Wine as much as I can.

I found the balance a bit broken. a Level 4-5 drowner took 3 smacks to kill and would still drop my health a moderate amount, despite me being L35!

Overall, I am glad I persisted. I did have fun with it, though I mostly finished it because I kept hearing it was the GOAT or similar.

Played through and thoroughly enjoyed Disco Elysium enhanced edition on PC.

Certainly not for everyone, but felt genuinely different and had me sucked in from the get-go.

After watching the recent demo, I am trying to decide whether the new Resi Evil is for me or not. I was going to give it a miss as I didn't like 7 at all, but the most recent gameplay seems to suggest it is more akin to Resident Evil 4 in some ways which was always my favourite in the series...

I was interested to see the announcement of RE4 for Oculus Quest 2, and I imagine there'll be a PSVR version of RE8 eventually.

One of the things I noticed about the witcher was the fairly liberal use of the C word. I found it jarring and unnecessary on the whole. There have been a few games I've played in the last 12 months that use it (though Witcher is the only one I can recall right now).

I am no saint, I swear like a trooper, but I've always found that word to be incredibly distasteful.

Depends on context for me.  It's a word that gets used liberally in those period/fantasy pieces in lieu of not knowing what words they might have used that meant something as severe.  Refer Deadwood/Rome/Spartacus/etc for other examples :)

Finished Spider-man on PS4 recently and really enjoyed it.

Currently playing through Final Fantasy Fantasy 7 Remake, as kid I never understood how to play the original and it never clicked with me, the remake is really fun so far.

I'm currently playing Lego City Undercover. It's my first Lego game and I'm really enjoying it. There's a lot of humour that's so good it could be straight from a Lego movie and I love the exploring and collecting things.

Fun fact: With Deadwood they knew what sort of language should have been used to be historically accurate; but what was considered extremely profane back then would have been mild and comical to a modern audience. So they instead chose to use the modern equivalent. I'm not sure if the (sometimes hard to follow) Shakesperean-like prose was at all accurate, but it successfully gave it an old-timey feel.

Been having a blast with the kids and playing mario kart live on their nintendo switch’s. Absolutely great fun setting a track up around the house amd racing the cars through it. Would love to order another switch and kart to go with it however I doubt the wife would be quite as excited about it all as We are

Decided I couldn't take more witcher 3 without a break, so got Outriders free on Gamepass and decided to give that a go.

I am really enjoying it, but it took a good 30-40 minutes to get even remotely interesting. The acting and story is a bit average, but once the combat started, wow things got intense. I am pretty impressed if I am honest. The best thing about it is the sound. The music and sound really lifts the intensity of the feel of the game quite a lot. It's not something you'd play an hour before bed.

Remind me to never play a first person shooter against you... anyone who thinks it's okay to cheat in those needs to have their console / PC taken away from them and get their internet permanently cut off!

I think it's pretty obvious he is talking about playing single-player campaigns.

Knowing @geektastic I think he would take a fairly dim view of cheating when playing against someone else in anything.
