I held off buying a copy, to wait for the prices to drop.

 

But I've noticed there isn't a copy to be had anywhere in NZ Retail, and Steam has it priced at $100 which i don't want to pay

 

Has the game been withdrawn for PC?

Green Man Gaming is out of keys though they have the Digital Deluxe (includes season pass) for US$99.

 

CDKeys has our region available for NZ$45.99, have purchased games from there before myself

I got it last year, was a let down for me. If playing on PC you need a gamepad to complete the tank permission as the controls are so unlike any other tank controls on a keyboard before it. I found my controller a couple of weeks ago, but as I found the game generally underwhelming I have not rushed back to play it.
