sorry I shouldn't of left question so open [ ie ]
what I meant was now can i either change some settting in the router setting or xbox live setting to inprove my connection.
I can log on to a game and it can be moderate then will change to open or even go back to limited [strict]
there are notes in other forums saying that d link 502t is not that great and others saying they have no problems

I know on the PS3 (we're all friends here Tongue out) one of the ways to improve connections is to put the console in the DMZ setting. You do that by setting a static IP on your console (don't as me how on the 360) and then somewhere in the Advanced settings are the DMZ options where you put in your consoles IP.

Sounds like youre wanting to open ports for games then......  youd have to find out what ports the game uses then add that to the port forwarding/virtual server options in the Dlink, pointing to your Xbox.

Or the other option is as sneakattack mentioned, put it on the DMZ which essentially makes your Xbox appear that its straight on the net without any router/firewall etc.
