I have the first gen iPad Pro 9.7" and it's super smooth playing Civ.

Really had doubts about how well such a detailed and complicated game would port to iOS and a touchscreen - but it’s truly excellent - Aspyr did a fantastic job on it.

Well, it took some doing but I finally finished AC:Black Flag and Horizon Zero Dawn. Unfortunately, for some reason I could *not* finish the final battle on normal difficulty. I understood the theory, but the damage I was doing to the final beast wasn't enough, and when I checked walk throughs videos others were doing 5 x the damage I was able to do on it's vunerable bits despite being level 50 and having pretty much everything maxxed. It was very frustrating, I think perhaps my game was bugged out. Resetting to easy I finished it in double quick time. In the end I decided I wanted to finish it and see the end of the story out, more than beat it on normal difficulty.

The problem I have with taking big breaks like I did with both of these games, was the loss of the plot and controls. I did manage to pickup quite quickly with ZHD but I still feel like I've lost on how to upgrade things effectively, so I am unsure I went into it with my strongest stuff enabled.

I ordered the expansion as I was enjoying the game so much.

I tried to play GOW, but had completely forgotten how to control everything so was a bit of a mess. I will need to revisit soon.

Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the best surprises of the last year in my opinion.  I took a while to get it, and once i did I couldn't put it down.  Those graphics are GORGEOUS!  But also a great story and awesome gameplay?! It was so good.

I also highly rate Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice.  The name is not great, so don't let it put you off :)  It's an incredible and unique game with stunning graphics, and story.  But the biggest thing that separates this game from others for me, is that the audio is recorded with binaural microphones.  Given the game is all about mental illness/delusions/hearing voices/etc, the binaural audio really immerses you in the mind of Senua.  Definitely play it with headphones.  It's a game that stayed with me, even today.  Quite affecting.  The Norse mythology setting is also really immersive.

eracode: Have also been playing Civ 6 on iPad for quite some time and it plays perfectly - albeit slowly between turns on my 4yo Air 2 with the A8 processor.

It’s snappy on iPhone X and looks superb but screen is a bit too small.

Looking forward to playing it on my new iPad Pro if/when new models come out next month. Should really fly on A12 Bionic chip.

I am also on the Air 2 and have my money waiting for the new Pro! I am hoping it will arrive before my UK trip on the 22nd November...

On the PC:

I got back into Civ 5 a little while back. Play as Prince difficulty, had my a$$ kicked in most games. The problem with Civ is you say to yourself "just one more turn" and 3 hours later you eventually exit the game

Otherwise on the PC I quite enjoy playing a game BeamNG Drive and just tuning cars up.

On the Console (Xbox One):

I picked up GTA V for under $50 to play on the Xbox One, I completed the game on Xbox 360, but have found the first person view on the Xbox One adds a new dimension to it.

Ghost Recon isn't to bad either...it's bad for doing regular large updates, and 12-15GB each time. It's not a bad game, but does require tactical play and not just running in all guns blazing.

Other Xbox One games started and not completed:

Dirt 4 - I'm Not fast enough., can get sector times but not stage wins, then push to hard and end up in the trees

F1 2016 - I'm Not fast enough.

Just cause 3 - Need to take out some listening posts in a short time frame, and keep just falling short. Got annoyed

Far Cry 3 - Need to sneak around (Doppleganger mission). I don't sneak around, I shoot first, ask questions later

Far Cry 4 - Need to sneak around (Got to sneak onto a truck). I don't sneak around, I shoot first, ask questions later

What is on people's wish lists? Mine are

Far Cry 5

Just Cause 4

Forza Horizon 4

Red Dead redemption 2. Haven't played the first one, but have been told it' a bit of fun.

Second this, Hellblade is not the best in gameplay but the story and they way they use audio is impressive. It goes on sale for $20 or less on Steam.

It also supports VR which is another experience in itself. It takes a bit of getting used to the camera, you're still in third person floating behind Senua but her head follows your gaze as you look around your surroundings. Using regular camera controls too quickly might cause motion sickness so use natural looking (ie. move your head) as much as you can. Having proper full 3D is really nice in games.

Oh it's available for PC, I'll definatly try that. I bought a GSX 1000 Audio processor which I completely recommned.

It's currently $50 which is incredibly steep for 6 hours gameplay!

For me RDR2 and Soul Calibur VI. Played the network test of the latter and it took me back to my misspent youth playing Soul Calibur 2 for hours and hours with friends gathered around the GameCube...

Got Red Dead 2 pre-ordered, but other than that not much else on the horizon. Just cleaning up the last of Spider man to get 100% completion and my first platinum trophy. Normally not a trophy hunter, but have loved the experience of being Spider man and just swinging round the city. The trophy collecting and task completion seem almost a natural part of the game and well implemented

RDR1 is amazing to play, I'm still playing it :) Just so much to find and do in it even after the main storyline.

Got RDR2 on pre-order, cant wait for it :)

It's definitely longer than 6 hours unless you're blitzing through and not looking for some of the secrets.  A couple of the puzzles might have taken me an hour just on their own.

Hmm interesting. I just went off what the reviewer mentioned, but I guess they don't "complete" the game as such.

Watch steamdb.info for price trends. Next Steam sale I wouldn't be surprised it going for $20nzd. Put it on your wishlist and wait a while :)

The binaural recording is really great, a good set of open-backed headphones without any surround effects really brings out the audio work they did.

It's an intense game.  You're constantly being bombarded with voices that are undermining you, just like someone who suffers paranoid delusions.  They float around your head whispering in your ears while you're playing.  Crazy but very interesting and insightful.
