I had a very good feeling this game was going to suck. I have only read reviews and haven't played (nor will I for what I will say next) so take this comment with a grain of salt...

... But everything about Fallout 76 seemed to not have the bits of the series I thoroughly enjoyed. I love solo questing games and Fallout with it's lore was easily one of my favourites. I also love the NPC elements of solo modes and these were absent too. Generally, I'm not a fan of multiplayer games outside of maybe GTA and Battlefield, but even in the case of GTA you have a very strong solo game so you're not locked in to having to play with or against other people.

If Fallout 76 had a good story and strong solo quest mode and the multiplayer was a bit on the side - e.g. you discover a city 1/4 of the way through your game and inside is a battle arena where can battle people for caps, weapons, or scrap with tournaments taking place at certain times etc. - that would be ok since it's totally opt in and doesn't affect your solo game at all (maybe some NPC's could offer alternate quests or dialogue options based on your battle arena rank which doesn't ruin the solo mode or something). Otherwise, this was never going to suit me.

Actually Fallout 76 is a pretty awesome game and it’s a improvement on FO4. There is a growd out there that bash’s this game and they need to move on.

I have played it and still enjoying the game and there is so much to discover and find. Does it have issue sure it does and nothing that stops you playing the game and enjoying it. Yes you see some odd clitches, you get disconnected from the server once and a while and then 2 Scorch beasts bear done on you and it’s game over. Logging off and then back onto another random server fixes a lot of things.

My FO 4 crashes more often mind you that maybe mods.

Ok would I recommend this game - certainly money well spent if you are a avid FO gamer enjoyed FO 4 you will love FO 76

You have to get over the first 5 level training missions but once you are up above level 25 and power armour equiped it’s game on.

Remember this started life as FO 4 multiplayer and they couldn’t get it to play the way they wanted it so no it’s not a 2018 high end graphics game like Red Dead but I’m enjoying it on a Xbox one x in 4K

What is there to do if you don't want a multiplayer experience?

Hi I and like a lot of others are doing Single Player you choose if you want to play with friends or totally with strangers. You can join an event anytime with others and get the rewards. I’m playing at the moment and ther prob about 4 other players on this server, it’s realy can be a solo experience. However it’s when you are up against the Scorch beast queen and minions you need to join the event as others as you will just get destroyed. This map is huge and I mean huge there is so much to see and missions. It’s great waving hello to others, I don’t chat to others and I leave my mic off.

I would probably play it the way you do then. Games like this I like playing alone. But the lack of story telling through human NPC's put's me off massively. I still have aspects of FO4 to visit if I want too so I can't see myself getting this for exploring yet. I think I would rather start the series over haha

There is far more stories in fallout 76 and I don’t miss the generic NPC the lore is there the quests are there to follow. My advice ignore all the haters get on line and play it it’s different but the same.

I'll play it one day - My love for the series won't let me not... But, time is a premium in my house right now so I definitely don't have time for this game yet!

Bait and switch on the $200 pre-release Fallout 76 release.

As way of an apology, Bethesda hasn't agreed to send out the advertised bag or refund customers, instead, the company has offered to compensate customers with 500 Atoms (the in-game currency of Fallout 76). Though the same pack of Atoms can be bought in the game for $4.99.

Been playing it since it came out. Both solo and grouped. I'm enjoying it. There are some bugs and it doesn't handle quests while grouping very well.

I think a lot of people had huge expectations and were disappointed. I do think it was way over priced.

I've played +50hrs so far, its not the best game in the world but its nowhere near the 1.5 Gameplanet gave it.

Its basically FO4 without human NPCs and occasional MP, also a much bigger map and I love exploring.

It pretty much is a solo game with MP on the side. If you want to ignore people it makes no difference(maps so big you really don't see many people). Don't want to PVP then don't, players do very little damage if you don't accept just ignore them and carry on.

Just checked the price and $114 NZD for the standard edition is quite excessive.
Anyone got it cheaper anywhere else? Will it come down?
I am keen to try it.

What does it mean by code in box? Is that just a CD Key?

Cheers

It was $70~ 2 weeks after release, I would expect to see it cheap again in a summer sale.
