Hi guys,
I'm having a problem with  my PS3. Every time i turn it on it resets my router and on-screen it comes up with 'PS3 has been disconnected from the media server' and then connection error '80130804' come up one after the other.  But then signs back in again. When I do an internet connection test everything works except UPnP comes up 'not available' although it is turned on in my router. The PS3 is hooked up wirelessly but it does the same when wired. It's hooked up to a WRT54G with stock firmware (its the first model that couldn't be flashed with dd-wrt ). Media sharing software is windows media player 11. But media streaming only works occasionally. I have 2 xboxes also on the network which stream fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the same router, use WMP11 as the media server, and had the same problems.

Disabled UnPNP in the router settings (saw the fix elsewhere) and viola! Problem solved. I have my Linksys on the latest Linksys firmware.

What Linksys Router do you use? I have a Linksys WAG160N & have had no joy whatsoever with getting the stupid Wireless working properly at full speed, wired is fine however. I have spent quite some time trying to get the Wireless working, I have opened ports, as per instructions given to me by Linksys, bit it still won't report anything higher than 1Mbit Download Speed, I get 4.7Mbit Download with wired however.

Well i went out today and purchased a wrt160n then promptly loaded dd-wrt on it so my problem is officially gone *touches closest piece of wood*.
I seem to be getting around 9Mbs copying files to the ps3 wirelessly over this router from my pc if that helps Zimsar10.
Cant recommend  dd-wrt enough, i cant stop fiddling with it.

I just got a linksys 160N. What is DD-WRT? and why is it better than the standard linksys operating software?

I get the occasional media server connection lost signal so I've hardwired the PS3 and the signal is much better but not perfect.

It's an open source firmware for certain types of routers. something on google could explain it better than me.
