I bought Division 2 this morning, it's sitting beside me. Is there any way I can get my PS4 to download the game via the Playstation store from here so it's ready when I get home? I have heard there is a HUGE patch day one, that would need to download even after I load the disc, was hoping to save some time?

IE can I use my physical media to verify I own the game and remote install it on my ps4 at home?

Did it work or your settings aren't enabled on the PS4?

Physical games can't be verified and downloaded remotely. Only digital games, which is the question I was asking.

One of the main PITA's of using physical media on the PS4.  One that the disk has to be in there....and the fact that almost immediately it requires a huge patch.

What pisses me off the most, is that buying it digitally, is MORE Expensive.

At least with PC gaming, the box comes with a serial number key that means you can usually find a way to download it via steam or what not even without the media!

Yeah it's odd that for me personally, I'd prefer PS Store media to physical for PS4....but for video content, I wont buy as I don't trust the content providers, I'd prefer physical.

A serial based model where you can buy the physical media and submit the serial to the PS Store to download the content would be a much better model.

Would be more secure too. What stops me taking that Disc and putting it into 5 PS4's other than the fact you need the disc in the drive?

Well given you can only have it in one ps4 at a time, they probably don't care.

Speaking of PS4 and remote access-related matters - has anyone had much success with the PS4 Remote Play option?

It became available for iOS devices last week with the latest firmware update.

I've just now tested it on my iPad via networks outside the home and it's connecting ok (initially worked fine on the same home network as the PS4, but required opening up a port on the router to work outside), but my work wifi is too rubbish to test it properly.

This does highlight a benefit of downloaded vs disc-based games - the latter are all available to play via Remote Play, whereas the disc in the player would be the only one available (if even that works?).

If there was an easy way to connect a PS4 controller to an iPad I'd probably use this feature more; but are there alternative controllers that'll work?

I haven't tried it outside my house...I used to use in on PC...but now use the ipad....and with the steel series nimbus it makes it quite usable....I had that for the ipad (off TM) and they'd only just added fortnite support for MFI controllers...and so imagine my surprise when the remote play for IOS turned up and it supported MFI as well (Gran Turismo on ipad screen....ok, works pretty well.

And yes if the disk is in (which my GT is on disk), it will play via remote play.  Thankfully I have very few physical games.

That's great to know about MFI controller support; I've never played many games on an iPad, so hadn't looked at these. I see the Nimbus is about $110; should have bought one of these rather than a third PS4 controller!

I'd be interested to know if there are any other more affordable MFI controllers that are good enough quality and replicate enough of the original PS4 controller - the Nimbus is about $70 reconditioned including shipping from Amazon, so that's a cheaper option perhaps while ensuring it'll still work properly.

Interestingly, I read that Remote Play doesn't support cell connections (ie requires wifi), but I managed to connect to my PS4 with my iPad tethered to my phone using 4G data.

I think I got mine about $60 off TM...just keep an eye out.  Though maybe people wont sell them now as the big pain was no fortnite.
