Sad to see it go, the people in Open discussion were odd, but the actual game communities in early 2000's were home to a lot of the original communities like CS, TFC, NS.

Theyre moving the forums to Tapatalk.

Once you get through the sarcasm and "kid" attitudes, theres actually quite a number of talented people on there.

That community is at times pretty toxic. It gets embarrassing when one of the reviewers happen to be one of the most toxic posters in the forums and has had to be temporarily banned from posting on various occasions.

Doesn't surprise me either..

Tapatalk has a mobile app which i understand is not bad, this might be a dumb question, what platform/forum software does Geekzone use and could you use an off the self app like tapatalk?

GZ is custom built, so something like Tapatalk wont work out of the box.

I used GP for the BST and the tech sub forums which imo probably had some of the most knowledgeable posters in regards to tech for any forum I’ve visited. OD was a lawless zoo though.

I only ever visited the tech help forum, but then moved to Geekzone as the content is much better here

I was quite surprised that my old login still worked on their new forum software (must have been using plaintext passwords) but at-least they're no-longer running a vulnerable version of VBulletin complete with several SQL Injection exploits (of which I disclosed to them multiple times).

It's a shame to see yet another community disappear. They could be a cesspool at times, but there were a number of threads and people contributing who had real value there.
