Ebgames has confirmed that my click and collect will be available at 7 am on Tuesday 10th :)

contrast this with Noel Leeming, who I paid the full cost of a PS5 for, who has provided no information.  I’m not holding out much hope for NL - when I preordered my Xbox one with them on launch some years ago, they didn’t have it when I went to pick it up.

@stocksp Did they say that all EBGames stores are opening at 7AM or just select few? I got a phone call from my local EBGames that it be will from 9AM to 7PM on 10th November as they cancelled the midnight launch. I wonder if they have now update timings to open at 7AM instead?

I would say it varies by store. EB Games Johnsonville said that they would open at 8AM (normal opening is 9AM) when they phoned me.

No clear reason give when asked. They told me over the phone that logistics of it was not going to work out so they are cancelling it. They did say that due to midnight launch cancellation they will keep their store open till 7PM on launch day so if someone is stuck at work, they can come pick it up like me.

Damnit I so wanted it midnight so I finish my all day webinar course wfh on 10th November and get straight into the new console. I might have to find a 1 hour window (hopefully lunch is 1hour long) so I can drive and pick it up from Cambridge to Hamilton.

This was Cuba St in Wellington. They made a point of saying thay they were opening from 7am to 7pm for the launch, but didnt comment on other stores

PBTech told me by email that they would be shipping on the 10th so expect delivery in 1-4 days afterwards, no indication supply was coming in earlier.

Spark's email says:

"Great news, your Xbox Series Xbox Series X - Black order has been completed.

Your order will leave our warehouse via courier one business day prior to the official release date of November 10th."

I don't have anything offcial from MightyApe, but in chat that is exactly what they said as well. They will ship the day prior to official release day, with next business day delivery.

I've now logged another question with PBTech about delivery noting the mighty ape, ebgames stuff... I'm hopeful that what I was told was wrong but I'm off on the 10/11th for other reasons so not too bothered if I don't get it... I'm curious to see how some of the current games I've got on my One X will perform, subnautica is pretty choppy in places!  One X will be demoted to the kids unit until the Series S becomes more needed in terms of new games that they will play; they're only 4 and 7!

Glad for that time extension at Cuba St. I got offered a new job the day after placing my pre-order there and now rather than working on Manners st 2 mins walk away I will be out in lower hutt.

Annoying you cant change stores for pre-orders but would probably cause all sorts of stock confusion

Just spoke to the most helpful of guys on the phone from Harvey Norman!

He had said that all XbSX and PS5 orders were first come, first serve for allocation.

He said he would get his colleague to check on status, and where possible change the order from shipped to collect at a preferred store.

Top lad!

Ok I am a little confused when a prior gen game says it will be available on launch day for Series X, do they mean it's the identical game using backward compatibility, or are they saying they have updated the game, and it will play better, using Series X enhancements (other than simply being faster) and be updated to properly support Series X? I am looking specifically at Borderlands 3?

Should be 'fully optimised' for series X and run at 60fps 4k.
