Interesting to see Halo hasn't made it to the list, considering it was touted as "the greatest first person shooter of all time" when it came out.

Maybe the first FPS to really catch on for console gamers (largely due to XBox live introducing multiplay I imagine).. but honestly, we'd been FPS'ing on PC's for years before Halo, it didn't stack up to the competition.

Some of my fondest gaming memories are playing Doom II Co-Op with a friend via 14.4 Baud modems.

RedJungle: Some key breakthrough FPS titles (in chronological order).. Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, Half-life.
