FlexT: I got the regular edition yesterday afternoon. Instead of having to "pre-order" the game a lady at DSE put one "under the counter" instead. At DSE, if you pre-ordered the game it was $149 (rip??) but i saved $35 by not pre-ordering it. WooHoo!

Didn't preorder mine either and went into Dick Smith yesterday at 5.00pm and they had heaps of copies in stock, with my VIP card it was only $105.

Bugger!
I forgot about the VIP card.

Do you think they would re-inburse the saving?

yep, tell them about the situation. they will first return the game into their system and then resell it with your vip card discount.

Do whatever you want to do man.

gurthang117: Just finished the game, took me about 6 hours on normal difficulty. Completely blown away! Easily best Call of Duty game yet. Looking forward to some online action tomorrow :)

Bit of a let down online so far, on the PS3 version anyway. Friend invites won't work till Friday, respawn points are messed up, I kill someone and he respawns right next to me and kills me, has happened a few times. Team tactical; my favourite game mode isn't there, although it's very likely to be returned in a future update, still annoying.

Still am having fun but these things need fixing.

Consider your self lucky mate, my connection has been rubbish for online gaming for the past few weeks so my first online experience with MW2 has been less than fun.

I spent about 3 hours trying to connect to a party...
It finally worked after a few tears inside.

any ideas how to change a Apple Airport extreme router from a strict NAT to moderate or even open?

Is there something up with your PSN account? I've been clan gaming and inviting mates for days and it's been working well :)

The respawn near you in deathmatch is a bit annoying, it's actually a perk, called Tactical placement, i think they should remove that, you put it on your perks, then choose where to spawn on the map.... You can even spawn in the middle of a big group of enemies

I like the deathmatches and free for all, but I admit I am missing COD5 for online play, although once i unlock HC Team Deathmatch it will be more enjoyable, i love the one shot kills, instead of 20 shots and they kill you with a more powerful gun

yeah i know. Very short-sighted of them. Performance results should be roughly on par though with dx10 enabled

No, their is no LAN mode. Although IW are 'promising' to put the feature in sometime...  I wouldn't count on it though given that they don't like anything to do with dedicated servers.

heres a good deal

Xbox New Zealand have just announced a limited edition Modern Warfare 2 console, replete with two wireless controllers, a headset, a copy of Modern Warfare 2 and a 250GB HD ? the largest available.

Xbox describes their console as ?low-drag? and ?battle-ready?, but we suggest you keep it indoors, especially with the $649 RRP price tag.

The console can be bought at participating retailers but keep in mind Modern Warfare 2 is R-18 and so too is this bundle.

I watched a video on YOUTUBE and a guy had got one of these new MW2 consoles.

Apparently it got RROD as soon as he turned it on and they also do not have any HDMI or HD output.

Sounds like MS just got some leftover arcade consoles, gave them some paint and chucked a 250gb hard drive on them.

Who the hell would use 250gb anyway?

I think that's been the case with most Pro/Elite consoles, you buy the HDMI cable separately however they do have a component HD cable you can use.

HDMI cables are only about $5 anyway so not too bad

I think MS probably did, only different would be:
Current gen Xbox Arcades have 256mb on board and HDMI, so you'd actually be getting a better deal with the 250gb HDD, as you'd have flash memory + a Jasper chipset

Pretty weird that it RROD'd though, the Jaspers rarely have that problem apparently :S maybe it was the E74 error

But yeah, I got rid of my Xbox, since it was teh Falcon, didn't want to have troubles with it later down the line

I've had mine for maybe 2 years. I think it was one of the original chipsets. When i got it i installed a whisper max fan and kinda' customized it a bit. Hopefully no RROD. It kinda freezes a bit though.
