Yip I am not going to be much use once I get home tonight... Hope some servers are up in NZ but I am guessing they should be as the have had since the beta was shut down to set them up.

Hi all,

Just got my copy today. I've been trying to play a multiplayer game but havent been able to. It always crashed to desktop...

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Edit: ok sometimes it doesn't crash to desktop, but nothing happens when I try to join a game. Sometimes there's an error message saying "Unable to log in at this time. Please check your network etc etc".

Yes it is a known issue. Read the following thread for some more info.

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company-2-pc/925089-kick-connect.html

There are acually a raft of issues that are either stopping people from connecting all to gether or like in my case getting kicked after connecting.
In my case I seem to be able to connect to servers that have up to 12 people on but much more and my Telstra cable modem crashes and reboots! Never seen anything else manage to take down the cable modem.Surprised

Thanks for that. Man this is annoying.

I did manage to play a single game last night though... but that's it. Haven't been able to log into any games since. I just tried now and couldn't even log in my soldier....

Ah after having a look at the EA forums, looks like they're updating their servers, so noone is able to log in at the moment... I guess at least they're doing something.

I've been playing this a fair bit. Though im avoiding gamerhub because even though i have 15ms latency, im feeling lag, which seems to be from them overloading the box its hosted on perhaps.

After the update the issues I was having seem to have been resolved.Cool

If you got the game on steam then it was released the day before it was released in NZ.

Speaking of Steam, I purchased the retail copy of the game but I am also on Steam.
I understand that I could "transfer" the game so I could play it through Steam, is that right?

What do you reckon is the best way of doing it? Leave it as is or play through Steam? With Steam, there are location filters so you would get better pings, but BC2 doesn't have this filter to begin with. So if I am to transfer it, will I have the ability to filter by location?

Now assuming this is all possible, how do I transfer it?

Thanks heaps for any help :)

Just bought my copy off Firstgames... I can't wait to get back into some Battlefield PC FPS action!

Hope my 8800GT will cut the mustard!

This game is awesome! Very addictive, I also preordered on Steam.

EA fixed the server issues/connecting etc on Sat arvo,

The game is a solid performer, with awesome graphics, and it's probably one of the best FPS games I have ever played.

Things lacking, Teamwork, Esp in Rush, everyone thinks they are a commando... And the VOIP support is pretty lacking, But hopefully they will fix this, and then once people start being able to talk to each other, Teamwork will be much better :)
