Hi

I recently bought COD MW2 retail and had to sign up to steam to be able to play online (suck, buts thats a different topic).Since then ive tried to purchase a game via that steam account,im unable to login to the  account.

Im wondering whether that account is a true steam account and whether i have to make a new one in order to buy through steam? What will happen to my cd key? (ive heard that even if you buy retail your cd key is/gets tied into steam) so it will be stuck on another account.

Sorry but im so confused by all this why did they have to use steam its a retail product for gods sake

Cheers

FYI. ive tried to contact steam about this but ive got no response

Welcome to Steam :D

I had trouble with Valves Orange box collection. Got it up in the end but i had to prove i was the owner. I suggest you get hold of Steams Tech support tell them what the problem is they will ask you to email a digital photo of your key just typing the key and sending it to them wont be accepted you have to send a photo. Once they confirm its legit your get all the help you need. One thing about the tech support guys is they are probably the best ive come across, they will practically bend over backwards to help.
