Hi all

I just upgraded my monitor so ive been running a higher resolution (1920X1080) playing Bad Company 2 and I noticed my card was struggling a bit (XFX HD4870) so I overclocked it a bit and monitored it using ATI tray tools OSD, while I did that I noticed the GPU was only about 70%-80% in use and my CPU was 100% most of the time so im guessing the cpu needs an upgrade to help speed things up? (AMD 6000+) or is it that it is just bit much for my card?

Was thinking of going to a Phenom II 945 same clock speed but quad core...

Running Bad company 2 all settings on high 2xAA and HSAO off

Any input would be much appreciated :)

Just an Update

I got a  Phenom II 965 and loving it Laughing, Its giving me an extra on average 15FPS, Didn't realise my cpu would have that much affect on FPS if I had a good GPU but now I know :) ...

I've done a little homework on BC2. It looks like it's really CPU intensive, and it seems to repond really well to quad core CPUs. Even stranger, there's a huge performance increase from about 3GHz to 3.4GHz on pretty much every quad core benchmarked so far. So you hit the sweet spot for BC2. Sadly, I'm only using an old dual core E6600.
