Hmm, might pick up the old model, if they go on sale to make way for the new one!

Hey cool. Thanks for that.
So you're saying that with an xbox360, i can or cant do surround sound?

I'm looking at this model as the next phase of my home media center.

Hmm well now Mighty Ape are including a couple of games and a HDMI cable. The price has gone up to $498 but as I do not have a xbox or any games now seems like a good deal. I also cannot find anyone else offering deals?

Also any idea if the preorders will be sent on the 8th to arrive on the 9th or sent on the 9th? If it is sent on the 9th then picking one up at a shop might be the best bet (still preorder)

The Xbox is capable of doing surround sound, just won't with the Media Center Extender it seems.

Oh my, the design is absolutely beautiful! I'd give up a couple toes for this bad boy, but with the Razer Lycosa that just turned up at work this morning, and the advent of cataclysm on the not too distant horizon, I think my wife/electronics currency is all but spent!

I'm keeping it on the down low. I'm buying a fancy washing machine for the partner so I get some credits to use in some new gadget. The iPhone 4 is top priority, though.

Good Guys has them at $419.

Mighty Ape has them at $499 with an additional game and HDMI cable.

Harvey Norman has them at $459.

I have one on order with Harvey Norman, they are including the same two games as Mighty Ape.

I got it for $459 with $20 cash down so really $479 but including the two games... at the time they still had $499 on the sticker..

In case anyone is wondering, the two games are Pure and Lego Batman (which I actually found funny).

Harvey Norman was actually doing an interest-free promo on gaming consoles (>$600) last weekend. I'm wondering if they allowed the new Xbox to be included in that.

I'll probably buy one when the Kinect comes out later in the year. Hopefully have a decent packaged deal.

It has built in wireless but does anyone know whether it still has an ethernet port?
