Ok here's my question/problem! (Be nice, This is VERY confusing haha)

My xbox 360 has 3 flashing red lights, I went onto the Microsoft website and did the questionnaire thing.  They said I needed a new power supply? I thought I would try a friends power supply and see if it works (Which it didn't) So I went through the process to send it back and it said the total amount (to pay) is $135.00 and they will inspect it then exchange it for a refurbished one? Do I have to pay any extra charges? It has no warranty.

how old is it?

I'd ask them to pay repairs as this is a known fault.

If they will not, then, go to the retailer and ask them to pay.

If the retailer will not pay, get the repairs done, then , take the retailer to the disputes tribunal .

It's 3 years old, That seems like a lot of fuss just for an xbox....But It does seem to happen to a lot of people! I would be more than happy to send it away for $135 but that sounds to cheap to me? I half expect a bill to turn up after I've sent it for more $$, Thanks for your reply!

Just read the xbox 360 repair : Frequently asked questions (Didn't see this before I posted on here) and it looks like it will only be one payment of $135! phew...... Embarassed

I don't remember how old my xbox was, but the replacement was free(they sent me out a power supply to try first).

This was even after I tried to repair the problem myself too(since it broke Christmas day when I'd just given the kids Rockband), good on em.

AFAIK the warranty period for RROD was three years, anything else was only one.
