Downloaded. Then I had to update my graphics driver. Then I got" You were disconnected from the login server."
Argh! Time for bed I think, hopefully these kinks are sorted out by morning!

I got the previously downloaded version working! decided not to stay up all night.. Woke up half an hour ago and thought id give it a go, took about 5 mins to work out.. Just been playing on the ON3 servers, 4 servers are pretty much full at 4am lol.
So far its definetly a beta. Feels different to BC2, will take a bit of adjusting.

theres some dedicated people on there.. ive seen a level 21 already.. thats insane for 3 days of beta.. it took me a good few months to get to level 21 on BC2 and i believe levelling up is about the same in BF3

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think their stats will continue over to the final game. Even so, without matchmaking those hardcore gamers are kicking my butt :)

I wonder if EA/Dice read forums like this for feedback? If so, theres a lot of graphical glitches still in the game, not to mention balancing issues. They'll be in crunch mode from now till release to get it all fixed I bet!

What did you do? I installed this morning and am getting the same issue. Have seen a couple of references to hosts file but it is not that for me. Only got a couple of minutes to try before I had to leave for work anyway.

Add an exception to your firewall, and turn off Peerblock if you have it ;)

OK I cannot just add an exception for the application to my firewall as it is a dedicated hardware firewall but if it is blocked ports then I can monitor what is being blocked and open it. That was going to be my next step anyway as I suspected that might be the issue however annoyingly there does not seem to be any info on what ports are required. Thanks for confirming I was heading in the right direction.

Well, the game runs very well on my GTX 460 1GB on ultra with no AA. The one thing I would have hoped that they would change was the horrible aiming system using a mouse, feels bad as BC2, it's like using a controller analog stick but with a mouse. COD wins for me with this.
