 Hello all,
I have been introduced to this forum by Pill Monster.  Don't know if you know him as that but he's helpful.

I have the above modem and some times it loses connection from the modem to the internet. In the past it has been measured at more than 40 degrees C on the outside of the case.
I don't need to replace it now, but it seems that it may be discontinued. It is about 5 years old.
I have been looking at other brands, but there are so many details  and specifications that I'm lost on what to get.

I definitely want a modem/router, but don't need wireless. (But wireless added is okay)
I'm hoping that, if I can't get another unit the same as the D-Link DSL-G604T Gen2, then you folks will help find one with the exact same features.

I have been looking at prices from 40 to 80 Aussie dollars, but don't understand their features. I am on ADSL2+ with TPG.

Hope this is enough info.
Regards from Cespenar.

I have a TP-Link TD-W8960N - it's fairly popular here, and pretty well priced at ~$100 or so.

If you really don't want wireless there's the TD-8840T at ~$60 (but a bit more difficult to find, and not as popular - I'd get the wireless version)

Thanks Kevin,
I just looked up TPG and they have NetComm NB304, or 304N.
Also on Ebay I found a D-Link DSL-2642B for $50 that looks almost the same as the DSL-604T. I wonder if it the same thing but a newer model?
I was also interested in TP-Link and Billion. What are they like?

Regards from Cespenar.

Oops! You already mentioned TP-Link. The 8840T is only $29 at PCCasegear.
                                                        The D-Link DSL-2642B is $39 at PCCasegear.
