I am on Telecom BB which I have always been very happy with in terms of speed, but about four months ago I started noticing that pages were considerably slower to load. Often pages don't load at all and give Server Not Found message, then reloading brings up the page. Often pages load unformatted in times new roman with text all justified left and no layout (possibly without CCS?)

If I go to Speedtest, it itself is slow to load, but when I finally run a test it shows a healthy 8mb download speed.

I do have UnblockUs DNS but when I remove all traces of it the problem still persits.

I would normally assume that for whatever reason - new subscribers or heavier usage by neighbours sharing my box - that this is an ISP issue. However, does the fact that I get a healthy speed from Speedtest, plus the fact that they load without layout possibly point to some other cause?

Thanks

Can you get the modem DSL line stats - should be sync rate, attenuation, noise margin etc.

Have you tried a different PC to rule out a spyware issue?

Yep, that's the ones.

Bit hard to read, but the general stats look OK, with a downstream sync rate of about 12Mb/s.

A few more questions -

1) Are you 100% certain you've gone back to using ISP supplied DNS servers?

2) How many devices on your internal network?

3) What happens if you turn them all off, and just use one at a time?

4) What is your data usage like?

5) Can you try some traceroutes to various major internet sites at the time you are having the problem - google, trademe etc.

6) Does the problem change at different times of the day?

Essentially, the DSL connection looks OK, so your physical line is more than likely OK.

Trying to establish if there is something on your network that is consuming a large chunk of your bandwidth, to the point that it is impacting on other devices...

Thanks, I will do as you suggest. In the meantime here is the tracert to www.google.co.uk. What are those 'timeouts'? Does this give any clues?
