Hi Guys n Gals,

I've been with Orcon using their VDSL modem the Netcom Wireless NF4V and I'm running into a slight issue that is starting to bother me.
Now what is happening is I will set the modems wireless bandwidth to 40Mhz to give 300mbs which is great, it gives me the full grunt of my internet speed. But almost every morning when I boot my PC up, the network speed is 150mbs and I check the router and it's 20Mhz. Which is really frustrating because it carves my internet speed down to nothing.. Now I know the router hasn't been switched of because it's up time is currently at 14 hours.

The only way I have been able to get it back to 40Mhz is by physically turning it off at the router and then back on, which isn't ideal as it kills my B0 Traffic type and I have to rebuild my VDSL speed.

Could someone help shed some light on this situation?

If I was to speculate it could possibly be Orcon's TR069 provisioning is switching it back to 20Mhz automatically. They would be able to confirm if this is the case or not.

For 99% of users out there 40Mhz WiFi delivers worse performance that 20Mhz along with other related issues such as disconnections and is certainly something I would never recommend using unless you live in a faraday cage.
