Hey Zoners,

I've been given a TP-Link TD-W8980 router - it says it is 'Ethernet WAN (EWAN) offers another broadband connectivity option for connecting to Cable, VDSL or Fiber modems'

Does this mean I can plug my UFB cable coming straight in from the road to the WLAN (EWAN) port without the need of another router in between it?

I've had a play with the settings, but at this point it doesn't want to play nicely..

Am I just being clumsy with my config with my UFB (Telecom UFB to be exact), or am I just being a bit wishful that it might work is this way?

The specs are here

I would be ever so greatful for a solution / answer...

Thanks,

Grunta

ild double check it defiantly supports vlan tagging on the WAN - looking online its a little inconclusive if it does support it or not.

your UFB will still need to go through the ONT before getting to your router, but assuming the above, it should work fine. (just make sure you active the EWAN on the given WAN/LAN port.
