I have done some research and am looking at moving back to 2 devices from PDA phone.
I am based in Canada and my carrier have CDMA versions of the most current Motorola phones. I think I will get a better Bluetooth headset experience with non Microsoft phone.
The PDA I am looking at is the HTC Advantage 7501 (in Canada, we have only one GSM carrier and they screw customers for data plans). I have a CDMA plan, thats why I am looking at 2 devices.
I want to connect the HTC Advantage to CDMA phone for data connection.
Based on some research, there may be 2 methods:
Which device needs the PAN or DUN profile, host device/phone or HTC Advantage which will use cell phone as modem.
For surfing, will I see a substantial performance hit if phone is not Bluetooth 2.0 (HTC Advantage is)
In looking at how to solve this issue another way, I have read people who have been able to fool Sprint in US that their PDA is not tethered to connect to laptop.
The GSM Carrier in Canada Rogers has a reasonable plan for data if you use PC card.
Can you remove SIM card from PC cards, install in PDA phone?
If you are able to do this, would the carrier be aware that you are connecting to internet via a PDA and not PC card connected to laptop?
Assiatance would be appreciated.
