Hi All

Has anyone been able to connect their fritz box ( 7490 )  to a DDWRT WIFI router?
I have followed this tutorial http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge , it says Successful Connection in DDWRT but then no internet access and cannot see the device listed on the fritzbox ?

What am i missing?

I would use a Cat cable but just moved in and the office is on the second floor...so not that easy ( just yet at least )

You've connected from a LAN port on the Fritz to a LAN port on the other box? I think that's key, from memory, not 100% sure. DCHP turned off on DD?

I've done this to a 7390 but with a Dlink router, not DD-WRT. I did it with DDWRT to a 54GL in the past though.

Cant connect the lan ports, impossible for me to get a cable to them....was hoping to eliminate the cable and use wifi instead.

Oh, when you said wireless bridge you meant wireless bridge... doh. I haven't done that. Just to confirm, you want to receive wireless with DDWRT and connect the Ethernet ports on the slave router to other hard wired ports, not make a wireless repeater? I'm not a network guy, I know a little.

Tried repeating the instructions? Did anything not go quite like the guide suggested? What's the IP address of your Fritz, and what's the IP of your slave? What's DCHP doing on the slave?

Examples:
Slave (ddwrt) 192.168.1.20 - dhcp disabled
Master (fritzbox) 192.168.1.1 - dhcp enabled

All good, Appreciate the help.

The office upstairs has 2 computers, im trying to sync the master and slave via wireless and then plugin network cables to access internet on both computers.
Mmmm, will try the repeating instructions, will let u know how that goes.

Fritzbox wont let me use the ddwrt as an extender/repeater...it sees it in the access point list but cant select it.

Is the slave in the DCHP range of the master? The guide says to use 192.168.1.2, which isn't important but shows you have deviated from the guide. There are two guides on that page, have you tried both?

My Stupidty, the top of that webpage says this :

"This is an older page on how to set up a client bridge. It is being kept as there might be info that some find useful, but ***THESE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD NOT BE USED*** Use the more complete and up to date guide to do the same thing that can be found here:http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged

I guess the keywords are in big bold letters lol.

Now that looks more legit! Gunna try that! Let u know how that works out.
