Quick question if anyone can help:

Our new house only has adsl2, and a poor connection at that. Looking to run a new line from the external box disconnecting all other connections that are present here. My question is:

If I only run one new cable, remove all other cables, and only have the adsl router plugged in (naked plan) im assuming i wont need a master filter, or would that also help improve any signal?

We dont need any other phone jacks or landlines ever again. Moved from having fibre so need to get the best that i can from this poor situation :(

Check with the neighbours would be my suggestion.  If their connection speed is equally as rubbish it is likely that the internal building cabling is less responsible than the cabling from the exchange or cabinet.

You are correct - the master filter won't have any effect if you are naked with one jack for the DSL.

Isolate all other telephone house wiring from the master telephone jack point is the best idea and plug modem into that

Ive got some cat cable around so ill run a fresh cable (and relocate it) to insure i can get the best connection speed. Its hard heading back to that sub 1mbit upload speed, wow uploads take ages!
