The AC lites had a firmware update a couple of weeks back that enabled WPA3. Usually the lite/pro/lr/acm get a combined firmware that does all models, but this was for lite only.

EDIT: 5.43.35 is the latest for AC lite, 4.3.28 for everything else in the same series.

@JessieB automatic upgrades are a requirement on this controller as I don’t want to manage individual sites to do firmware updates when the controller release updates.

I host a fair few sites and have not had any reports of any problems.

I do note you have a fair number of networks on your site along with 2x sets of access points on different physical networks. I recommend keeping this under 4 to prevent beacon issues and on the same network to prevent handover issues.

Thanks for the feedback Michael, and yay!! for the new release from Ubiquiti. Hopefully that will fix my problems. I did install this as an RC on one of my APs using the manual upgrade, but then it got downgraded by the auto update process. Anyway, thanks again.

I notice that the Pro versions have their latest firmware versions at 4.3.28. So my guess is that Ubiquiti are using owners of the Lite APs as unwitting beta testers. Bas***s!!

Not really - my FlexHD has been on 5.43.23 for months, so that on an AC Lite is just a port, not really anything too beta.

Not quite. The AC-lite has normally been part of the series UAP-AC-EDU, UAP–AC–IW, UAP–AC–IW–PRO, UAP-AC-LR, UAP-AC-M, UAP-AC-M-PRO, UAP-AC-PRO, with one firmware download that covers every model in the range. It has now been split off and jumped ahead, as though used as a test mule for this series. FlexHD is part of a different model range.

Anyway, this is getting a bit OT from the cloud controller.

@michaelmurfy I couldn't see this mentioned in any other threads, but older UAP's have been obsoleted (https://community.ui.com/questions/Select-UniFi-Access-Point-AP-Models-Obsoletion-Date-March-1-2021/65487283-ce9d-49f4-85b9-b6aa54659ef7) and no changes can be made to them in a controller newer than 1 March 2021.

I have a couple of UAP-LR and only discovered this after updating my controller to 6.1.71 yesterday.  I had to remove it, re-install the last supported version (6.0.45) and reset the AP's to get it back again, and now i wont be able to update.

I just noticed that your controller is on 6.1.71, are there users on there that this will affect?

@Amosnz as I run the latest controller version this affected a few but I did message them some time ago telling them. I’m largely hands-off on the controller now as I don’t personally use any Ubiquiti products - just maintain the controller for others.

Hrm. Can't work out to see when mine updated, but possibly FW updates are breaking things.

BZ.5.43.36

Just been googling as I was striking it with my AC-Lite, and this is rather recent.

ive got one on 5.43.36, the rest of my lites I downgraded. It caused a few problems.  There’s a large thread on ubiquiti forums complaining about them.

Looks like I never noticed until I recently did a forget network. Likely had my phone set with a fixed IP to point to pi-hole. But was trying to diagnose some random android chrome crashes.

Nice of them to take all the complaints seriously.
