It's shiny!
cause my son's xbox now does not say he should be using IPV6 and so hopefully he will stop complaining his games lag out cause he does't have IPV6 😁
Looks like a new device has been released:

Looks well below the ER4 spec wise

Hi There,
I recently brought a Edgerouter ERX, and have Orcon gigabit fibre internet at home. I'm struggling getting it connected to the internet. Followed the OP's excellent guide on configuring through the Wizards. Was really simple and after a bit of messing about with the router was able to get it updated and configured.
However i was struggling to get the router to pick up an IP from the ISP. Saw another post from Eong (page 36 of this thread) which said that Orcon binds MAC addresses. So i spoofed the MAC address on the Edgerouter (after a lit bit of googling to figure that one out) and the router instantly picked up the IP from the ISP. However i am not getting internet from eth1. I set a static ip on my laptpo but just couldnt get to the internet.
I am a noob when it comes to this router and networking, so would appreciate any advice i can get on where to look. If you need any info or diagnostics from the router i'd be happy to provide it. So far what i have done is..
Boot Router and update to firmware 2.0.6 (latest).
Run WAN+2LAN2 wizard. Set PPPoE with VLAN 10 and ISP username and password. DHCP. Firewall enabled. Changed login user and password.
Rebooted.
Spoofed the MAC from my original Netcomm NF18ACV router. Recieved an ipv4.
Enabled offloading on hwnat and ipsec from console.
Enabled port forwarding + Hairpin NAT on eth0 and eth1.
Connected my laptop with a static IPV4/24 to eth1.
No internet. :(
I would like to get ipv6 going on this router as well but would only mess around with that once i get the basic functionality going.
Any advice would be much appreciated. I tried to get in touch with Orcon but was instantly stonewalled once i told them i was trying to use 3rd party hardware. They wouldn't even confirm if they have MAC binding. Very frustrating!

Why are you setting up port forwarding and hairpin NAT? I would start simple, get the internet running then add some more custom config.
Why are you connecting your laptop with a static IP?
I would run the wizard, connect you laptop via DHCP so you know the gateway etc is set correctly, then go from there. You don't even need hardware offloading to get connected, it'll work but just slower. Start simple. Maybe start with WAN+2LAN as well.
When you connect your laptop what gateway have you set? What happens when you try and ping 1.1.1.1 ?

Thanks Delphinus, i did try the internet before i added the other configuration and it wasnt working then either, i thought i'd get it all in and then troubleshoot it (probably a bad idea). I had tried a dynamic ip and it connected and recieved an IP just fine. Still no internet though.
Ill try and ping 1.1.1.1 and report back once i do.
If i wanted to run the Wizard again, is it recommended to wipe the device back to factory defualt before running it, or is it okay to just run the wizard as is?
Orcon use IPoE (DHCP client) NOT PPPoE.
Looks like someone beat me to it, but have a look here:

Spyware:

That did get me a little bit confused. if i select IPOE, there is no option to enter the username and password, would the connection work without those? Or where would i enter those?
You don't enter username/password.
It worked! Reset the router, spoofed the ISP router's MAC, used the wizard to setup IPOE, set up the hardware offloading, enabled the ipv6 as per the original post and and its working perfectly. Orcon's 3rd party router installation instructions are really confusing, they lead you to believe you have to enter a username and password for the router to authenticate, and make no mention of MAC binding. Clearly they dont want you using 3rd party hardware.
Now, next problem... I have a google wifi 3 pack plugged into eth1. Its getting an ipv4 no issues. Any way for me to get the Google Wifi to recieve, and pass on, ipv6 to clients connected via the Google Wifi? I have a Xbox plugged into eth2 of the edgerouter, and thats picking up a ipv6 just fine. So i know the Edgerouter is putting out an ipv6. Any ideas if this is possible to do?

so with a few spare minutes and no one at home to nag me that the internet wasn't working, and wee bit of googling, and a few wee tweaks, this got IPV6 on 2degree working for me, commands below...
set interfaces ethernet eth0 mtu 1508
set interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 10 mtu 1508
set interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 10 pppoe 0 mtu 1500
set interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 10 pppoe 0 ipv6 enable
edit interfaces ethernet eth0 vif 10 pppoe 0 dhcpv6-pd pd 0
set prefix-length /56
set interface switch0 host-address ::1
set interface switch0 prefix-id :0
set interface switch0 service slaac
top
commit
So I've done this, and it works (awesome - thanks!)
But I have very high CPU usage - see image, 60% and above normally.
When I add in the extra line recommended by Michael Murphy, it all falls over, lose internet connection completely:
set interfaces ethernet eth0 pppoe 0 dhcpv6-pd prefix-only
What am I doing wrong :(
EDIT, sorry just clicked the picture and saw you are on 1.10.9, so ignore this...what software version are you on?, as 2.XXX has known issues (high CPU) with NAT offloading, need to drop back to 10.XXX, which is what I had to do.
have you....
configure
set system offload hwnat enable
set system offload ipsec enable
commit
save
to enable hardware offloading?
