Hello All,

I am a nongeek trying to understand bluetooth. I have an old car which does not have bluetooth built-in.
Without spending major dollars, is there a car cigarettle lighter based blue tooth receiver that can enable me
to make and receive calls thru my car speakers?

I know I can use a bluetooth headset but was wondering if there is an inexpensive way of hooking up my speakers with a bluetooth
receiver.

thanks and please excuse me if I make no sense.

There isn't anything that you could plug to a cigarette lighter and get sound through the car's speakers. For this you will need a new head unit replacing your existing stereo.

There is a brand called BlueAnt that does similar to what you want but it has it's own speaker. Cigarette lighter powered . . .

It is on blueant.com.au and they have distributors in the US. Great brand, great products (I have a couple of their Bluetooth headsets plus other accessories). The Superant is great, and won't need your speakers.

But as I said if you want the sound through your car speakers then you need another unit.

I have a Parrot CK3200LS kit that, using ISO connectors, plugs in between my head unit and my cars wiring loom.

No wiring was necessary, and when the phone rings, it cuts off the stereo music, and rings through the speakers. The callers voice also comes over the car speakers.
