Anyone else had difficulty connecting their laptop to an Orcon Genius (GLD411-OR) router via wifi?

This laptop has always connected to EVERYTHING - there has never been a wi fi issue.  However the laptop just won't detect or "see" the Orcon Genius router.

Any ideas?

SOmetimes laptops have USA-specification wireless cards in them, and this means they only see certain wireless channels.  For example in the 2.4GHz Wireless B/G/N range the USA is allowed to use Channels 1 to 11, but NZ spec devices are allowed to use Channel 1 to 13.  If the Genium is auto-selecting its wireless channel on startup (after doing a scan and detecting other wireless use in the area and trying to select the least-busy channel), it may be choosing 12 or 13, and your USA-spec wireless card just cannot see it because of that.  We had this with a client's MacBook.

Ultimately in our case we manually selected a wireless channel on the client's router to prevent the issue reoccurring.

Is this possibly your issue, and can you get into the router's web interface to check this?

As per Dynamic .. log into router and reset Refion to Australia, or reset channel to something below channel 11 and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into this.
