Anyone know suppliers of white Cat5e outdoor cable.  Not after the Gel filled as this is not going underground just after the one with extra coating over the PVC coating.  My usual suppliers only do it in black, but I want it to run on external part of white down pipes.

I've never seen white external available anywhere. Many people will argue only black can offer true UV protection as carbon black is the only true way to add a high UV rating to plastic.

Thanks, the fact dynamix don't sell it guess reinforces your point. I had seen overseas suppliers and have coax in white so was hoping. Maybe have to rethink how I move the cable around as the black will be super ugly! Cheers

Not seen it before either. I have some regular cat6 that is outside, but on the dark side of the house and its been fine for years - not in full sun very long tho, and it gets movement quite often as I move the loose end of the conduit that comes out of the ground around. Lasted much better than the cheap garden hose beside it which has all gone brittle and looks like its been hit with a blowtorch in parts.

Hmm interesting, will rescope th job and see if I can stay away from the downpipes, or maybe spray the downpiper part white.  Reluctant to use indoor cable as will be firing POE down it, although like yours this is on the non sunny side of the house.

You cant get it in white - only black due to the UV protection qualities.

The white coax you often see run on the outside of buildings is usually also only for indoor use.

Its the same with the cable ties you use - they need to be black and UV rated.

Either go down the back of the downpipe, or run it inside some white capping next to the downpipe.

This makes me wonder why sky installers use white coax?

Because they get paid again when they have to come back.
