Have a standard thomson v8 router (Telecom)

 

I know it isn't a a faourite amongst IT pros

 

But why does my wifi keep dropping and reconnecting?

 

If I am browsing on my phone for example I keep seeing Wifi has connected to xxxxxx every 10 - 15 minutes?

given the modem is rather old, its likely on its way out. could also be heat related

 

a better device is reasonably cheap second hand off trademe, or a little more new

Could be one of many reasons. What basic WiFi fault finding have you done? I'm assuming none so far?

are you sure its not just your device dropping the connection because its gone to sleep?

 

have you checked the logs on the modem?

 

when it happens does the device restart or drop its DSL Sync?
