If setup correctly and the AP's are connected to a controller (Free GZ Controller) they should automatically hand the phone off to the next closest AP with the best signal.

Geekzone has a Free Controller that you can use if you like, or you can host your own.

You do need to get your layout and power levels fairly spot on though for this to work well

The AC-LR is quite high power as it is, and "auto" power level = "high all the time".

Consider the AC-Lite or NanoHD (NanoHD would be my pick) if you are putting these AP's relatively close together.

Simple answer is yes and no.

That is a huge bit of land. Why and how are you planning to cover 2 acres with 3 indoor APs? How are you planning to interconnect them?

I’m not covering the whole land I just want to put a couple towards the extremities of the house to give good external coverage

For outside get the mesh ones on an antenna pole. I get good speeds on my phone on 5GHz at the end of the driveway which is close to 100m away. Fantastic and cheap little things.

Gavo0010: I’m not covering the whole land I just want to put a couple towards the extremities of the house to give good external coverage

Wrong solution then because they're completely the wrong type of radio.

Assuming the house is in the middle and you want outdoor coverage you'll want this sectrorised and to cover that sort of distance assuming you're set on UBNT the only solution they have is UniFi Mesh radios with UMA-D antennas. Only problem is they're only 90 degree antennas and while they obviously will go beyond that it does mean you'll need 4 to cover 360 degrees.
