Anyone else experience any issues?

Using Open DNS 2 particular sites just are terribly slow or wont load at all

All back to normal if I change DNS to Xtra

I used to use open DNS myself ... but ended up switching back to simply running an internal DNS server which forwarded through to my ISP (and in case that failed, used the root servers themselves).

I also didn't like the way that opendns would redirect you to a "search" page if you failed to type correctly ...

Awesome

Used to use them too but when I do my VPN connection to work doesnt work for some reason. I think it is because OpenDNS respond with a response even if they can't locate a server, where as my ISP's DNS simply returns a Not Valid response and so the VPN traffic they tries the VPN DNS.

My internal DNS server is using OpenDNS as the forwarder

Its cheap and effective way of preventing my family getting to objectionable sites

It does make browsing slightly slower, but family didn't really notice, but for the last 24 hours facebook just wont go :( 0 much to my wife's disgust - farm town withdrawal :)

This was discussed at length in our TelstraClear forums and I have replied with the short explanation, and one of the TelstraClear engineers gave the long explanation.

In other words, with more and more ISP implenenting caching and transparent proxies here in New Zealand, using OpenDNS is asking for trouble,
