Hi, i'm about to buy a new laptop and it just happens to have this bluetooth adapter built in.

Details on it can be found here:

Click on details and it's the one on the right:

http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/learnmore/learnmore.aspx?c=nz&l=en&s=dhs&~series=inspn&~id=inspn_dfambluetooth_ap

What i'm wanting to know is what this will support...

Particularly will i be able to use a cellphone headset as speaker/mic on the laptop.

Also what about a bluetooth audio headset... I believe this profile is called something like A2DP or AD2P or something. The list of supported profiles has audio in it but I don't know whether that includes music etc.

Thanks for the help.

A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) is used for stereo audio - not many Bluetooth software support this - even less hardware. It is not listed there.

The audio profile supported is profile Gateway/Headset. With this you can have a Bluetooth headset paired and used with your computer, but it will be mono sound only. Also, not all mobile phones support the headset profile as a server, so I don't think it would work for that...
