Hello

I have a problem that drives me crazy for a few days now.

My specs: Ipaq6340 1.11.10, T42p laptop, ActiveSync 3.8, WinP SP2, standard MS Bluetooth drivers (I have my reasons for not using Widcomm drivers). ActiveSync connection on COM7.

I want to sync with my laptop using BT.

The problem is that althougth I can pair ipaq with laptop and connect to host PAN, Personal Area Netowrk User Service is the only service that I can discover on my laptop.

I figure out that it might be because other services (Serial Port or ActiveSync) are not started. I know how to start them in Widcomm's drivers, but can anybody of you how an idea how to do this in MS' drivers?

I tried turning off firewall and rebooting.

Marek

Yes, I have tried your guides. Everything from the guide is similar with only one exception. When I finally try to discover active sync (or any other) connection from ipaq I get : "The requested service is not running. Pleasemake sure the service is enabled on the device or select another one to continue".

That is why I figured out that maybe the services are not automatically started on my laptop. I guess that if it would be widcomms drivers the solution was simple, but there is no (or I cannot find) such option in MS Bluetooth drivers.

I already tried connecting do different COMs. It didn't work out in any combination.

Thank you freitasm, have you any other ideas?

Marek

To check if a service is running or not, go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools-> Services.

Check the list, maybe it'll help.
