I got a new laptop with two USB ports. I have to sync via Bluetooth.

Problem:
HP 2755 pocket PC and Laptop with XPhome SP2 connects via Bluetooth at COM2. File transfer is OK.

But ActiveSync does not work. Connection settings changed to COM2 as well. When tried to connect, Activesync on laptop searches COM2 port for over a minute than cannot find the pocketPC. I could not establish the bluetooth connection by creating a new activesync connection on my pocketPC but rather just paired the devices. When I try to establish a connection at my pocketPC by creating a new Activesync connection (as it explains in guides), it says:
"The requested service is not running on this device. PLease make sure the service is enabled on the device or select another one to continue."
On my PocketPC's serial port settings is shows inbound comport as 5 and outbound com port as 8. And I could not change those, but on my laptop, port number is 2 on bluetooth settings and activesync.

Software: Bluetooth Stack for windows by toshiba v4.00 on laptop
Bluetooth for windows CE BT-PPC version 1.5.0 Build 2901

Thanks guys (and ladies).

Is this the first ever AcvtiveSync partnership to be created on this laptop? If yes then it must be created through a USB cable. After this new partnerships can be created via Bluetooth.

It looks like the ActiveSync on your computer is not using the correct COM port. It should be using an incoming (or server) COM port.

There's no need to change the COM ports on your Pocket PC, since these do not have any influence on how the Activesync on your computer works.

I suggest you check the COM port configuration again and make sure it is an incoming port, and that there's no firewall software possibly blocking communications.
