Heya.

I've a  logitech dongle, the one that comes with the dinovo keyboard.

My problem is that it simply wont install as bluetooth at all.

Not even from a re-install of windows xp, and using the SetPoint 2.22 from logitech.com

The problem started yesterday when i just brought a stero headset that's using bluetooth.

And before yesterday, i had no problem with the dongle, it was running bluetooth installed from the setpoint 2.22 driver

First thing i did was connect it up and there was sound, however, the sound was very poor, mono sadly.

After a quick research, i found out that from widcomm version 4.0.1 the bluetooth sound driver was improved, so wanted to update the widcomm.

So i found myself a widcomm 5.0.1 installer, tried to install it, however from this point and beyond, i  could only get 'bluetooth device not found',

I've followed the http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=8&TopicId=6780, however i only have 1 widcomm icon, blue/red and if i unplug and re plug the dongle, it gets installed as a usb hub, not a bluetooth usb hub. there's no sign of it, being a bluetooth hub at all.

Have tried everything in that post, also the installing of that reg cleaner, uninstall everything with bluetooth and setpoint, run a regcleaner, and try install the widcomm drivers and then plug the dongle, however result is still the sad, blue/red.

Tried to re-install windows, but same result, a new thing have started happening though, from the point where i tried to install the widcomm 5 driver, the setpoint driver havn't been able to detect the dongle either.

The Broadcom/Widcomm drivers are licensed for a specific hardware. Simply installing another driver from the same developer will not work, if the license file is not correct.

There are some hacks around on how to circumvent this, but we don't have them here because of copyrights.

I am afraid you might have to remove the drivers, and try reinstalling the original ones. If it doesn't work, it may be the case of reinstalling your OS.

If this was a license problem i believe it would have asked me for the license file, which i've read it tends to do.
however this is not the case, it havn't asked for a license file, not even once.

I have tried to remove the drivers, and tried to install the original ones, and i have tried to reinstall my OS, and install the original ones from the start, however.... not even the original ones can find the bluetooth dongle anymore.
